The Blood of Dawnwalker has received its first major post-launch update, with version 1.1 now available across the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as PC. The late October 2026 patch weighs approximately 13GB, depending on the platform, and contains more than 1,100 fixes and improvements, alongside several new features, quality-of-life additions, and higher-level changes to The Blood of Dawnwalker‘s combat and progression.

Rebel Wolves had been discussing the newly debuted update since September, when it teased several major The Blood of Dawnwalker changes, including an easier difficulty setting and improvements to combat and disengaging from enemies. The final release addresses everything from inventory management and equipment presets to progression-blocking bugs and nearly a dozen crash scenarios.

Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 Goes Beyond Previously Announced Features

Many of the headline additions from The Blood of Dawnwalker‘s 1.1 update were outlined a week ahead of release. They include the Draught of Mind Rebirth, which lets players reallocate their Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism abilities, as well as the ability to pet cats and dogs. The previous Story difficulty has also been renamed Forgiving, while a new Story mode adds further combat assistance. Other previously announced changes include expanded subtitle options, updated Frame Generation technology, combat camera adjustments, better targeting and disengagement, and improved Shadowstep and Planeshift responsiveness.

The finished patch nevertheless contains a number of notable changes that were absent from that preview. Merchants now offer a buyback option, equipped items are hidden from the selling interface, and individual pieces of equipment can be assigned to both the day and night presets at the same time. The Blood of Dawnwalker developer Rebel Wolves also rebalanced upgrade costs, particularly at higher levels, added controller deadzone settings, and reduced the health of higher-level wolves and boars. On a similar note, one annoyingly strong guard was also toned down after being capable of killing Coen in a single hit below level 30.

Update 1.1 Fixes Numerous Blood of Dawnwalker Progression Issues

A fairly substantial portion of the 1.1 build is devoted to fixing quest progression blockers and related bugs. Among the fixes are permanently closed doors that could prevent The Blood of Dawnwalker players from entering the arena or reaching the final encounter area in A Hero’s End, Anca failing to spawn and blocking progress in Stronger Than Achilles, and an issue that allowed Coen to leave the intended quest area during Midnight Reckoning. Numerous other objectives, combat triggers, NPC appearances, and quest states have also been refined and polished, making progression fixes one of the single largest components of the update.

Despite the scale of the patch, at least one major technical issue with The Blood of Dawnwalker remains under investigation. Rebel Wolves says its open-world vampire RPG can crash on systems using an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT when switching frame generation from disabled to enabled. A fix may not necessarily have to wait until the next major update, however, and could instead arrive through one of the game’s near-future hotfixes between November and December 2026.
