The 2026 Xbox Games Showcase started strong with huge game trailers and kept the momentum going all throughout the show. Microsoft fans desperate to see the return of true console exclusives to make it worth owning an Xbox will have undoubtedly been happy with the announcement that Clockwork Revolution and Gears of War: E-Day will only be playable on Xbox, even if virtually everything else that was shown is still getting a PS5 version. As has been the case for years, though, the true winners of the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase were Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Only a handful of big games at the showcase, such as the promising Metro 2039, weren’t day one Xbox Games Pass additions. Considering just how many Xbox Game Studios projects were highlighted, though, this is hardly surprising. As always, barring a few rare exceptions like Call of Duty, games made by Microsoft-owned developers drop on Game Pass as soon as they release, adding a huge amount of value to subscriptions. There were a few non-Xbox Games Studios titles that’ll be coming to Game Pass too, though, so it’s worth giving the full lineup a look. The following games are listed in the order they were shown at the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase.
Xbox Game Pass Just Added the Perfect Game at the Right Time
After A24’s Backrooms movie proved to be such a hit, this new Xbox Game Pass co-op horror title is the perfect game to check out.

There was a healthy amount of variety in all the confirmed Xbox Game Pass additions at the show. Xbox’s big 3 all had good showings, whether it was Halo: Campaign Evolved’s look at the new Sergeant Johnson missions, Fable confirming both the Jack of Blades and Peggy Carter actor Hayley Atwell as its main villain, or Gears: E-Day featuring some neat street combat with Marcus in civilian clothes. State of Decay 3 looks to be good fun for zombie slayers, too.

Fans of great stories in games got new looks at the next entry in the Plague Tale franchise, as well as a surprise reveal of a new Hellblade entry. Just titled Senua, the game will likely dive even deeper into the mind of its leading lady. Persona 4 Revival, though not under the Xbox Game Studios umbrella, will also be a day one Game Pass release. The same goes for the brand-new Persona 6, a move that will surely be a big deal for JRPG lovers. Magicians: The Devil’s Deal made quite the splash with its neat story setup and some BioShock-like combat, which could have made it an unexpected game of show for many. Clockwork Revolution also has clear BioShock vibes, leaning more in the direction of Infinite with its steampunk aesthetic.
A few charming titles also made the day one Game Pass category. Minecraft Dungeons 2, the latest spin-off of the hugely successful block building game, will be a day one drop, as will the adorable Bad Magpie. Join Us, a comedic game about running a cult, will also be a day one title that’s worth a look for any Far Cry 5 or Cult of the Lamb fans. Vivarium looked poised to round out this particular category, but platformer fans also got a look at an upcoming Spyro game that will also drop on Game Pass as soon as it launches.
Fit the 9 games into the grid.
With existing Game Pass titles like Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 76, and Sea of Thieves getting new content, it’s a great time to subscribe to the service. All the titles highlighted above launch over the next year, too, ensuring that Xbox Game Pass fans will be extremely busy across 2026 and 2027.
