Steam users have been treated to a new free-to-keep promotion, this time for the local co-op party game Kajipeet, which launched in 2024. To be clear, Kajipeet was never an expensive Steam title, costing just $0.99 before going free. Regardless, the game is now available to everyone at no cost, giving fans of co-op friendslop games a risk-free chance to check it out.

The gameplay loop in Kajipeet is straightforward. Up to four players spawn on a small floating map, where they must kill or push their opponents off the grid to become the last player standing and score points. Different map layers and environmental gimmicks can influence the match’s outcome, but the overall premise remains the same: kill or be killed.

Kajipeet Used to Be a Paid Steam Game, but Now It’s Free

As of October 22, Steam users have been able to download and play Kajipeet for free. Developer Miracle Scape revealed that the change comes as the studio celebrates the start of work on its new game. Alongside Kajipeet, the developer’s other game, Lizards vs Slavs: Arena, has also become free to keep for all Steam users.

Kajipeet doesn’t have many Steam reviews at the time of writing. However, its $0.00 price tag should be enough to entice fans of co-op party games to give it a try and judge it for themselves. The game’s charm lies in its simple, easy-to-learn mechanics, which seem engaging for players of all ages. The developer also suggests that the game offers plenty of replay value, with lots of upgrades, varied level designs, and Easter eggs for players to discover between deadly matches.

Kajipeet also takes a page from co-op shooter games by adding power-ups to the mix. According to the developers, various enhancements can appear on the map, with some affecting players’ skills while others grant abilities to manipulate environmental conditions. One example the devs offer is the Royal Battle gimmick, which adds a shrinking zone to the map, similar to the mechanic used in many battle royale games to force encounters.

Kajipeet is designed for local multiplayer and does not appear to offer a single-player mode. Based on the trailers, matches require at least two players and support up to four. Those looking for a similar competitive friendslop game can also check out Shenaniguns on Steam. The top-down shooter recently dropped its $6.99 price tag and became free to play for everyone. Unlike Kajipeet, Shenaniguns has already received a few user reviews, most of which are positive.
