An extremely rare Pokemon prize is being put up for sale for a staggering $400,000, with a Pokemon Unite trophy set to be one of the last of its kind. The incredible Pokemon prize comes as The Pokemon Company recently confirmed that Unite will be shutting down in 2027.

The Pokemon franchise boasts a vibrant competitive scene across many of its different games. The video games and Pokemon TCG serve as some of the biggest competitive avenues for the series, regularly holding major tournaments with big prize pools. Pokemon‘s competitive circuit includes tournaments for some of its most popular spin-offs as well, allowing players to test their skills against one another in games like Pokemon GO and Pokemon Unite among others. Now, with the announcement of Pokemon Unite‘s end of service, one competitive player is selling off one of the game’s biggest prizes.

Pokemon Unite World Champion is Selling Trophy for $400,000

Former professional player Junglebook is officially selling his Pokemon Unite World Championships trophy. Junglebook shared the background behind the trophy, earning the prize as a member of BLVKHVND at the 2022 World Championships, the first World Championship tournament for the game. The former champion confirmed that he has only held the Pokemon Unite trophy during the awards ceremony, and that it still comes with its original presentation box. The trophy is up for sale for $400,000, though Junglebook has said that he would consider trades for high-value graded Pokemon cards.

The Pokemon Unite trophy commemorates a unique entry in the beloved monster-catching franchise. Pokemon Unite first debuted in July 2021 as a spin-off created by Chinese developer TiMi Studio and has seen frequent updates in the years since, adding a multitude of new Pokemon to the playable roster. The game has appeared at each of Pokemon‘s annual World Championship tournaments since 2022, being featured as a main event alongside the Pokemon video games, the trading card game, and Pokemon GO.

News of Pokemon Unite‘s shutdown caught many fans by surprise, though the writing may have already been on the wall for the MOBA. The MOBA had already gone offline in some regions of the world ahead of its full end-of-service announcement, including Pokemon Unite shutting down in Belgium and the Netherlands in late 2025 due to local laws regarding loot boxes. TiMi Studio has confirmed one final major update planned for the game on November 12, allowing players to pick up Unite Licenses and Holowear from throughout the game’s history.

Pokemon Unite‘s closure comes as the franchise is set to have a big year on the horizon. Game Freak and The Pokemon Company officially revealed Pokemon Winds and Waves as the tenth generation of main-series games during the 2026 Pokemon Day presentation, scheduled to officially launch in 2027. Pokemon is also continuing to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a variety of special releases, including a recently revealed set of Fender guitars with Pokemon Red and Green designs. Pokemon Unite‘s official shutdown will come as the franchise prepares to enter a new era in 2027.
