The open-world survival-crafting game Conan Exiles, which has 79% positive reviews on Steam, has confirmed that it is coming to PlayStation 5 in early 2027. Conan Exiles is already playable on PlayStation 5 thanks to the console’s backward compatibility. However, the version currently available on the store features outdated Unreal Engine 4 visuals, which the upcoming Conan Exiles Enhanced release will finally fix.
On May 5, 2026, developer Funcom released Conan Exiles Enhanced on PC, a free upgrade powered by Unreal Engine 5. At the time, Funcom said it had no plans to bring the free patch to consoles but would consider the possibility. Now, roughly five months after its initial release, Conan Exiles Enhanced has been confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, along with two other anticipated updates.
Conan Exiles Enhanced Comes to PS5 With Crossplay Support
While announcing the long-awaited free console upgrade, developer Funcom said, “We are also happy to announce that full crossplay is coming to Conan Exiles Enhanced.” Players will soon be able to team up with friends on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, a feature fans have been requesting for a long time. Funcom also confirmed that the third part of the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc will arrive on November 10, meaning fans of open-world survival games on PS5 will have fresh content waiting for them when they start playing.

Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.
Conan Exiles throws players into a harsh, primitive world filled with monsters and hostile NPCs, where they must survive and thrive. The gameplay loop includes familiar genre staples, such as gathering resources, crafting better tools, and exploring dungeons for loot. Conan Exiles is also known for its impressive base-building mechanics. Players can build massive mansions and defend them against threats in both PvE and PvP modes.
Developer Funcom hasn’t revealed the exact release date for Conan Exiles Enhanced on consoles. However, one small detail on the PlayStation Store may hint at a possible release window. The game’s official description states, “In preparation for the Enhanced launch, servers and the in-game Bazaar store will shut down on January 26, 2027.” This could be a subtle sign that the PS5 version will launch in late January or early February 2027. However, nothing has been officially confirmed, and these are merely speculations. For now, fans of open-world survival games will have to wait for further details from developer Funcom.
It is interesting to see that a nearly 10-year-old game is still going strong and seeking an even larger audience in 2026. According to the developer, Conan Exiles has attracted over 15 million players since its release in 2018, making it one of the most-played survival-crafting games on PC and consoles. According to SteamDB data, the game frequently reaches 10,000 concurrent players on Steam. And with crossplay coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, that number could climb even higher.
