Multiple New Far Cry and Assassin's Creed Games Are On The Way, Ubisoft Confirms

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has teased that multiple new Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed games are on the way following the company’s recent restructuring.

Guillemot was interviewed by Variety and asked about the future of franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry now that they’re under Vantage Studios, a Creative House Tencent is also invested in.

“Under the Assassin’s Creed brand, several titles are in development, spanning both single-player and multiplayer experiences, with the ambition to further grow a community that exceeded 30 million players last year,” Guillemot teased in response. “On Far Cry, anticipation is high, and we currently have two very promising projects in development.”

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Assassin’s Creed received a new game last year with the Japan-set Assassin’s Creed Shadows, while the Far Cry series hasn’t gotten a new game since 2021’s Far Cry 6. We’ve now learned that multiple games are on the way for each series, validating previous reporting from Insider Gaming. For Far Cry, that reporting suggests a Far Cry extraction shooter set in the Alaskan wilderness and a new mainline game where players have to try to save their family within 72 in-game hours.

This interview and news comes during a very challenging time for Ubisoft. At the start of 2026, it restructured into separate Creative Houses focused on certain franchises. As the company did this, it also implemented a return-to-office mandate, canceled several games, and laid off developers at studios like Ubisoft Toronto. In response, Ubisoft employees have gone on strike and demanded that Guillemot resign, although he has not given any indication that he will do so.

It’s unknown when exactly these new Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed games will be released, especially as Ubisoft delayed several games during the recent restructuring.
