Ubisoft’s ongoing post-launch support for Assassin’s Creed Shadows continues with a roadmap detailing what’s in store for players this winter. After its 2025 launch and a steady cadence of title updates, the French studio isn’t slowing down, despite its recent troubles. Players can look forward to much more than simple bug fixes for Assassin’s Creed Shadows as 2026 starts in earnest.

The title is the latest in the long-running franchise chronicling the conflict between the Templars and Assassins across various historical settings. It initially landed on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in March 2025 before the Claws of Awaji DLC released in September. Assassin’s Creed Shadows also made its way to Switch 2 just before 2025 ended, but without the DLC. After proving to be a hit for Ubisoft, this new winter roadmap offers some details regarding how it will be supported in the immediate future.

April 30 is Going to Be a Big Day for Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The developers of Assassin’s Creed Shadows are teasing some big news for April 30, and fans of the recently released title will want to tune in.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Parkour Updates Incoming, Switch 2 DLC Launch in March

Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ winter roadmap focuses on three major milestones. Community-requested tweaks to traversal and movement are at the heart of the first feature update coming on February 17. Ubisoft is adding a full manual jump to Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and it’s spicing things up by throwing in a community parkour challenge. After February 17, players can share a 45–60 second, one-take video that depicts skillful parkour using the new manual jump mechanic. Entries must be shared on Twitter with #ACShadowsParkourChallenge by March 8. Then, the community gets to vote on March 16 and winners could snag a limited edition vinyl soundtrack signed by the development team, collector’s edition figures, or other goodies.

Alongside the updates on February 17, players will also get access to a detailed stat page and critical hits will see a visual update to make them both snappier and more apparent. The next update comes on March 10 with the release of the Claws of Awaji DLC on Switch 2 and the premium edition of the game. Finally, the winter roadmap’s last item is the one-year anniversary on March 20. That also coincides with the end of the one-year roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. It promises live streams and giveaways for participants, but details remain scant otherwise.

While Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ pre-launch controversy drew onlookers, this winter roadmap is a breath of fresh air amid titles that treat post-launch content as a top-down drip feed. The team behind the game appears committed to treating its community as collaborators instead of simply onlookers. Even parkour, the most mechanical of mechanics, is being shaped by player sentiment rather than internal design whim.

For Switch 2 owners, this winter roadmap is more than a handful of updates, but the release of the missing Claws of Awaji expansion. That adds a whole new region, weapons for Naoe, enemy types, and over 10 hours of additional story content. While most players could already experience the DLC, it was the main offering missing from Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Switch 2 version. Thankfully, that’s about to change, and only a few months after its initial port. In an age where live service and single-player prestige sometimes feel at odds, Ubisoft might just be finding a way to make Assassin’s Creed Shadows feel like a true progenitor of the franchise’s future, with both feet firmly in 2026 and one hand still gripping the hilt of a blade.
