Baldur’s Gate 3: Forsaken has officially been revealed, bringing tons of exciting new content to Larian’s CRPG. If Baldur’s Gate 3 wasn’t already big enough, this new release ensures players have plenty to do, taking a more combat-focused approach than the base game.

Larian’s official support for Baldur’s Gate 3 is largely over. The developer announced its intention to move on from the game quite soon after its release over three years ago, leaving Baldur’s Gate 3 without any post-launch DLC. That said, the free updates for the game continued for a while, bringing a bunch of substantial changes and additions for players to enjoy.

Baldur’s Gate 3: Forsaken Custom Campaign is a Fun Warcraft Crossover

Baldur’s Gate 3: Forsaken is a brand-new custom campaign mod set in the Warcraft universe. Creator SquallyDaBeanz says it’s based on the Undead starting zone, Tirisfal Glades, from World of Warcraft, and as a result, the map scale resembles WoW in its density more so than vanilla Baldur’s Gate 3. Players take the role of one of the Forsaken and must find their place in a world in which they find themselves no longer slaves to the Lich King.

As it stands, only Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3: Forsaken has been released, but even this promises over 20 new quests, dungeons, towns, and settlements, with over 60 handcrafted NPCs and merchants. This includes multiple custom companions who can join the adventure along the way. There are cutscenes and dialogue, some of which are class-specific, and over 30 combat encounters for players to engage with. However, the dialogue isn’t voice-acted, and there are no plans to add it, either. The mod is 100% free and can be downloaded right now – it even works in multiplayer, as long as everyone has it installed.

You play as one of the Forsaken; an Undead who has recently awakened to find they are no longer slaves to the Lich King. Now you must find your place in this new world alongside other freed Undead as you fight to reclaim the kingdom of Lordaeron. Hunt fierce beasts, explore forgotten ruins, end dark rituals, slay zealots, discover magical items, and more in this Custom Campaign for levels 1-5.

Even if Larian’s support for Baldur’s Gate 3 might be done and dusted, the community has not disappointed in how it continues to create awesome new mods for the game. Custom BG3 campaigns are perhaps the most ambitious of all. They take the most effort to make, but arguably have the biggest payoff when they come together.

It has been almost a year since Larian unveiled its next project, Divinity, at The Game Awards 2025. The developer has been very quiet since, but in the immediate aftermath, it suggested that the game will be an improvement on Baldur’s Gate 3 in many ways. While it’s no surprise that Larian wants to talk up its next project, it’s a very high bar to meet – hopefully 2027 will bring a little more in the way of Divinity news.
