Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod Restores Nearly All of The RPG’s Cut Content

Fans of Baldur’s Gate 3 have been suddenly gifted a plethora of formerly cut content to explore, though the update comes through a new mod. The massively popular Dungeons and Dragons RPG from Larian Studios has been repeatedly hailed as one of the best games of the 2020s, with fans and critics alike raving about the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 has seen praise for its seamless adaptation of Dungeons and Dragons‘ core gameplay, as well as the engaging characters and rich world presented within the RPG. Larian has also been no slouch at supporting the game after its launch.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has received a wealth of free updates since the game’s launch, adding everything from new story content to subclasses. Patch 5 introduced a brand-new epilogue to the game, giving fans one last chance to say goodbye to their favorite party members. The final major update, Patch 8, went all-out to send the RPG off with a bang, adding a new subclass for each of Baldur’s Gate 3‘s playable classes. Now, fans are being given even more reason to go back to the RPG, with a new mod adding back tons of previously cut content.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod Restores Tons of Cut Content

The Ultimate Cut Content Restoration mod for Baldur’s Gate 3 aims to give fans the most complete restoration of the RPG’s shelved content possible. Created by modder MaxStrengthWizard, the Baldur’s Gate 3 mod brings back more than 90 different previously cut items, including an array of equipment ranging from weapons and armor to consumables and summon items. Multiple abilities are also introduced with the mod, both with specific items granting special perks and re-adding several feats to Baldur’s Gate 3. The modder even teased several more cut items and abilities they plan to restore to Baldur’s Gate 3, teasing new types of armor, items, and even more abilities.

The extensive Baldur’s Gate 3 mod pulls much of its content from the time the Larian Studios RPG spent in early access. Larian Studios first launched an early access period for the RPG in October 2020, with more than 2.5 million players testing a build of Baldur’s Gate 3‘s Act 1. The RPG saw numerous changes from its testing versions with Baldur’s Gate 3‘s full release in 2023, with some companions not available in the early access version. The Ultimate Cut Content Restoration mod also makes it easy to pick up Baldur’s Gate 3‘s previously cut items and armor, adding the new options to both treasure tables for enemies and potential shop inventories.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Made Larian Studios a Legend

Baldur’s Gate 3‘s success helped to catapult Larian Studios into an icon of the gaming industry following its high-profile debut. Baldur’s Gate 3 stood as the easy winner of the 2023 Game Awards, with the RPG capturing an astounding six awards, including the “Game of the Year” title. The game has continued to boast a major presence at the awards show in the years since its release as well, capturing “Best Community Support” at The Game Awards in both 2024 and 2025. Larian Studios even debuted its next big project at last year’s annual event.

While Larian Studios confirmed it was moving on from Baldur’s Gate 3, the developer wasted no time teasing fans about their next big project. Larian Studios officially revealed a return to the Divinity franchise at the 2025 Game Awards, teasing a new game simply titled Divinity as its next game. Divinity was even the subject of one of the biggest mysteries leading up to the annual awards show, with The Game Awards sparking speculation through cryptic posts about a stone in the Mojave Desert. Baldur’s Gate 3 has carved an unforgettable legacy into the gaming industry, and Divinity will certainly have a lot to live up to following its debut.
