Battlefield 6 announces a massive overhaul to the Assignments and Challenges system, making life for players a little easier. After launching in October, EA has continued to shape Battlefield 6 through updates as well as kicking off its first season of content.

Even with Battlefield 6 getting off to a massive launch, there have been more than a few parts of it that have left fans frustrated or hoping for change. Weapon bloom has been a major point of contention for players, as Battlefield Studios continues to make adjustments to improve the experience. The studio also announced a major change that is live now with huge changes to its challenges and assignments.

Battlefield 6 Overhauls the Challenge and Assignments System

This latest server-side change again takes aim at Battlefield 6‘s challenge system, just a few days after another change to how rerolls work. This latest update completely overhauls Challenges and Assignments, making requirements much easier to complete, while also reducing the time investment needed.

For example, class challenges should be completed much faster, with specific actions, like having squadmates deploy on a Spawn Beacon being reduced from 50 to just 5. Mode-specific assignments have also been adjusted by lowering requirements, and Mastery assignments have also been simplified to better match what EA calls the “natural rhythm of gameplay.”

Battlefield 6 Players Should Avoid the Smoke Mortar

It’s worth noting that this is just a first step, as Battlefield Studios has even more plans on the horizon which will take place over multiple future server-side and client-side updates. All-in-all, these first set of changes have made over 90 adjustments to Challenges and Adjustments, and it should make some Battlefield 6 unlocks much easier to earn.

There’s plenty more coming, as well as console and controller design lead Matthew Nickerson teased that Battlefield 6 will adjust its aim assist system. The team appears to be aiming for something “less sticky” while also applying a more consistent movement slowdown.
