Nintendo has just published its financial report for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, and it includes official updates on the best-selling games on both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2. These new sales figures won’t really surprise anyone who’s been keeping up to date, but there’s one new addition to the best-selling Nintendo Switch 2 games list.
The last Nintendo financial report was published back in May of this year, and like the reports that preceded it, it provided a detailed list of the best-selling games on the original Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2 to that point. For the last few years, the Nintendo Switch 1 bestsellers list has remained essentially unchanged, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate retaining the top three spots for a long while. With the Nintendo Switch 2 still in its infancy, having released only a little over a year ago, its bestsellers list has proven to be a little more changeable. That said, the Switch 2’s top three bestsellers have also maintained their spots for quite some time.

In its Q1 FY2027 financial report, Nintendo officially revealed the top 10 best-selling Nintendo Switch games, and the top six best-selling Nintendo Switch 2 games. Before diving into the specifics of these lists, it’s important to mention that these figures are based on worldwide consolidated sales, including both physical and digital sales, and including games sold as part of console bundles.

An immediate point of comparison between Switch 1 and 2 lists is that a Mario Kart game leads the charge in both. On the Nintendo Switch side, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe retains the number one spot comfortably with 71.53 million copies sold, an increase of around 450,000 units since Nintendo’s last financial report. Mario Kart World is still the best-selling game on Nintendo Switch 2, with 15.39 million copies sold as of June 30, 2026, which is an increase of around 690,000 units since the May report.
Another key similarity between the two bestsellers lists is that Pokemon has a strong presence in both. While Pokemon Scarlet/Violet and Pokemon Sword/Shield take the number six and seven spots, respectively, on the Switch 1 bestsellers list, Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Pokemon Pokopia take the number 3 and 4 spots on the Switch 2 list.
This most recent financial report also marks the first appearance of Super Mario Party Jamboree on the Nintendo Switch 2 best-selling games list, with the game having officially sold 1.15 million units worldwide. Interestingly, this does suggest that no other first-party Switch 2 game (that isn’t already on the list) has managed to achieve similar lifetime sales. That would mean that titles like Metroid Prime 4, Mario Tennis Fever, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment may not have surpassed the one million units sold mark.
