The past few months have been tumultuous for the Fallout IP, but with Fallout Day on the horizon, it seems Bethesda is still intent on celebrating the beloved IP. Fallout players have plenty of options to celebrate independently of Bethesda as well. Revisiting Fallout 4‘s Commonwealth is never a mistake, managing a Vault in Fallout Shelter is tons of fun, and plenty of folks should still give Fallout 76′s Appalachia a fair shake.

Nonetheless, beyond the holiday, there’s plenty to look forward to as well. Bethesda will release Fallout 5 sometime after it finishes with The Elder Scrolls 6, while Obsidian Entertainment is also working on a Fallout game (as long hoped for by fans). In the short term, however, the upcoming holiday is cause enough for celebrating a franchise important to so many gamers.

Fallout Day 2026 is More Like Fallout Week

Bethesda has now officially outlined its plans for Fallout Day 2026, confirming that there will be no live broadcast this year and that it is doing this year a “little differently”. Instead, the studio will celebrate from October 19 through October 23, sharing something new each day across the official Fallout social channels. Bethesda’s announcement promises a week focused on the community, partnerships, existing games, and a first look at the Fallout 76 World Pets update. The studio is taking a self-described different approach to Fallout Day, spreading the celebration across five days rather than centering it on a live presentation.

  • Monday, October 19: Community Spotlights and Wasteland giveaways
  • Tuesday, October 20: Fallout Shelter updates and Fallout 4 creations
  • Wednesday, October 21: Celebrating collabs and out-of-game experiences
  • Thursday, October 22: First look at the Fallout 76 World Pets Update
  • Friday, October 23: Fallout Day – A day for all fans to come together and celebrate everything Fallout

Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.

The week begins on Monday, October 19, with community spotlights and Wasteland giveaways. Tuesday shifts attention to Fallout Shelter and Fallout 4, with Bethesda teasing updates for the mobile Vault-management game alongside a focus on Fallout 4 Creations. Wednesday will focus on partnerships and collaborations outside the games themselves. Although the schedule does not detail every reveal, the daily themes give fans a clearer idea of what to watch for as Fallout Day 2026 gets underway.

Thursday is set to be particularly interesting for Fallout 76 players, as Bethesda has promised a first look at the post-apocalyptic open-world game’s World Pets update. The announcement does not provide further details about the update’s features, so players will have to wait for the planned social posts to learn more. Friday, October 23, will close out the celebrations with Fallout Day itself, giving the community a chance to come together and celebrate the franchise. It is unknown if Bethesda is ending the week with some major announcement, but that is not expected at this time.

While the lack of a live broadcast means fans should not expect a traditional showcase from Bethesda this year, the five-day schedule still leaves room for new details about several parts of the franchise. The biggest confirmed preview is the Fallout 76 World Pets update, but it remains to be seen if Bethesda has shown its entire hand.
