Derek’s love of games came at an early age when his parents first brought home the Nintendo Entertainment System. From then on, countless nights were spent hunting ducks, stomping turtles, exploring far off planets, and combing through dungeons with a trusty sword and shield. Originally growing up exclusively with Nintendo products, Derek’s perspective grew to include other platforms ranging from Sony, to Microsoft, the PC, and more. As his views and opinions grew, so did the desire to connect with other players and video game fans. In 2011, his writing adventure began on his personal blog, eventually joining up with the GameRant crew in 2015. He currently covers everything from features and guides, to the latest breaking video game news.
It’s been months, but Ubisoft is finally ready to bring a highly requested feature, teased all the way back in July, to Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced. Even while being one of the worst-kept secrets in the gaming industry, the anticipation for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced was undeniable as the game quickly raced past various sales milestones.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Adding New Game Plus
While Ubisoft originally announced New Game Plus for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced back in July, months continued to tick by and left fans wondering when the feature was actually coming. In a new social media post using a meme inspired by a scene in The Great Gatsby, the official Assassin’s Creed account thanked fans for their patience and confirmed that New Game Plus is finally launching for all players next week. Unfortunately, no specific details were provided, but fans should expect to hear more when the feature drops.
It’s unclear why the feature has taken three months to bring to the game, especially with it being a major priority as a post-launch feature. It’s possible that integrating the mode was a little tougher than the development team thought, with Black Flag Resynced needing a complete rebuild from the original 2013 title. Game director Richard Knight revealed that Black Flag Resynced is basically a brand-new game as none of the original code could be salvaged or used. Even assets had to be rebuilt in the Anvil Engine, with original resources being used as placeholders or serving as a model for the new content.
