Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 publisher Activision has now confirmed that the game’s highly anticipated Season 3 update will arrive on Thursday, April 2, bringing even more content to the shooter and its free-to-play counterpart, Call of Duty: Warzone. Details on what will be included in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7‘s next season have yet to be officially confirmed by the studio, but a new post has given fans their first look at what will likely be a new Battle Pass skin.

While Activision is now gearing up to give fans another massive content update to jump into, it was only just last month that the studio released Call of Duty: Black Ops 7‘s second seasonal patch. As promised by developer Treyarch Studios, the team continued to bring the heat with new content, once again providing fans with some brand-new and remastered Multiplayer maps, fresh weapons, more game modes, plenty of cosmetics, another epic Battle Pass, and much more. Warzone players were also treated to a new Rebirth Island variant, as well as some new gameplay features, modes, and more.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare blows up on Steam almost seven years after its release.

Call of Duty Confirms Season 3 Start Date

As many players have likely now completed their Season 2 Battle Passes in Black Ops 7, checked out all of the new and remastered maps, and levelled up each new weapon, Activision is gearing up to keep the grind going with even more content for the shooter. In a new Twitter post, the publisher revealed the first official image for Season 3, which appears to feature a new operator skin that will likely be available in the next Battle Pass. The post also confirms that Season 3 will kick off in both Black Ops 7 and Warzone on Thursday, April 2. Further details have yet to be revealed by Activision, but fans can likely expect a full blog post and roadmap reveal later this week.

While details on Season 3 are scarce, the official Call of Duty Community Teams Twitter did respond to a post last week speculating on the return of Modern Warfare 3‘s popular Get High game mode, confirming that “something different” was in the works for the game’s upcoming season. The team replied to the post by saying that Treyarch Studios is currently cooking up something different that will put players’ movement skills to the test, and that it will feature less 4/20 vibes and be released later in Season 3, presumably in the shooter’s mid-season update, which usually arrives a month after launch.

While Season 3 is still a little over a week away from release, Activision and Treyarch did just launch the highly anticipated Season 2 Reloaded update for Black Ops 7 and Warzone. Not only did the mid-season refresh bring even more maps to Black Ops 7, including some classic Black Ops 2 remasters, but it also saw the return of Blackout, which was Call of Duty‘s very first take on the Battle Royale genre. Now known as Black Ops Royale, Warzone‘s newest game mode brings back all of the best parts of Blackout, including wingsuits, no gulag, no loadouts, and more.

Fans may be loving the return of the iconic Black Ops 4 game mode, but Raven Software’s decision to include bots in select regions sparked controversy among the community. The studio made the announcement just hours before Black Ops Royale was set to be released, confirming that a new test will introduce bots to Black Ops Royale lobbies in Europe and the Middle East. Fans quickly responded with outrage, as many are concerned that this may eventually make its way into other regions later down the line.
