PlayStation: The First 30 Years Launches

A new collectible book called PlayStation: The First 30 Years is releasing in November, with the Deluxe Edition costing a whopping $325. As the title implies, the 400-page book chronicles the history of the PlayStation console, including the behind-the-scenes process of development, much of which has never been seen before by the public. The book is chock-full of PlayStation console concept sketches, R&D prototypes, and models that made it into development but never actually released. While the standard version of the book can be purchased for $125, the Deluxe Edition arrives with an exposed binding, clamshell presentation box, a photographic print signed by Teiyu Goto, who designed the original DualShock controller, and Benedict Redgrove, the book’s photographer. As the Deluxe Edition of the book is limited to just 1,994 copies, megafans will need to act quickly in order to grab it from Read Only Memory.
