A recent rumor claiming that Marathon and Destiny 2 would be merging in the future has been officially addressed by the creative director of Marathon. While Destiny 2 fans initially had mixed reactions to the alleged leak, they now have an official response to put their minds at ease.
Destiny 2 x Marathon “Leak” Gets Shut Down
Marathon creative director Julia Nardin recently took to Twitter to address a so-called leak that had emerged indicating that Marathon and Destiny 2 would be combined into a single IP. The claim was reportedly made on 4chan, and quickly began making waves on Reddit, when it was shared to the Destiny 2 subreddit. The rumor apparently reached Nardin, who immediately debunked it, confirming that the so-called leak is completely fake. She acknowledged that the two games have a fair amount of commonalities and the same “Bungie DNA,” but that they were designed as two separate entities and will remain that way.
