As the franchise’s free-to-play entry in the long-running series, Call of Duty: Warzone has brought forth some exciting multiplayer matches since it launched two years ago. As is natural with multiplayer first-person shooters, Warzone features a variety of maps to fight in, and the Rebirth Island map appears to hold an Easter egg that has some major, but exciting, implications.

The recent return of Rebirth Island was an applauded update to the game, but there is actually more to this map than meets the eye. In the control center located on the island, there lies a detail that could possibly be a nod to a previous Call of Duty game. This potential Easter egg could be hinting at some exciting things ahead for the franchise, as it seems as though exo suits, like in Advanced Warfare, are being produced on Rebirth Island.

Exo Suits Found on Rebirth Island

Advanced Warfare is arguably one of the strongest entries in the Call of Duty franchise. Hailed by both critics and many players as a unique and thrilling game in the long-running series, Advanced Warfare imagines the future of war, which was a compelling change of pace for the franchise’s focus on the past and current conflicts.

One of the best features introduced in Advanced Warfare were the exo suits, which brought the game’s combat to a whole new level. Developer Sledgehammer was given a lot of creative freedom that ultimately paid off, but there hasn’t been a new entry in the series since the first and only Advanced Warfare launched in 2014.

Exo Suits Could Be a Simple Easter Egg or Much More

The inclusion of these exo suits could very well be just a fun way for the developers at Raven Software and Infinity Ward to give a nod to their peers at Sledgehammer. However, featuring these suits also could hold far bigger implications. Sledgehammer was once in the early stages of making another Advanced Warfare, but the game unfortunately never came to fruition. Since the original game’s launch, there has been a lot of hope for another entry in the spin-off, and these exo suits could be leaving hints about a new Advanced Warfare game.

franchise that took an innovative approach to the usual formula. Not only were exo suits part of the game, but
Advanced Warfare
also experimented with jetpack movement.

Debates About the Nature of These Exo Suits

Shortly after the return of Rebirth Island was announced, many players noticed the suits, wondering what the meaning behind their inclusion could be. The conclusion that Makarov and his Konni faction are building exo suits that will eventually somehow tie in with Advanced Warfare has been a prevailing theory, but there is also a valid reason to doubt this viewpoint.

Even if Makarov is building exo suits, they look nothing like the ones from Advanced Warfare. In Advanced Warfare, it’s probably better to describe the suits as exoskeletons. The exo suits found on Rebirth Island look more like armor, complete with their own helmets that are almost reminiscent of a Spartan helmet from Halo. However, there is also the possibility that these suits are a model of special armor that eventually inspires the creation of Advanced Warfare‘s exoskeleton. Even if this fun little detail on Rebirth Island doesn’t tie in to Advanced Warfare, it could still be promising an exciting upgrade in Warzone‘s combat with its own exo suit event.
