Season 1 is winding down for Call of Duty, meaning a brand-new season of content is expected for Warzone and Modern Warfare 3. Here’s all the rumors and details we know so far about Season 2 for multiplayer, Zombies, and battle royale.
Call of Duty Season 2 start times
Based on the amount of days left in the Season 1 battle pass, Season 2 of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone will likely arrive on Wednesday, February 7. These updates usually go live at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST across all platforms.
What to expect from Season 2
Season 2 of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone will include a new battle pass to level up and unlock more weapons and cosmetics. Seasonal passes usually contain at least one operator and two DLC weapons.
One of the potential weapons for Season 2 could be the F2000 assault rifle, which was first introduced in the original Modern Warfare 2 from 2009. The F2000 was featured in Ranked Play promo art from Season 1 Reloaded, but the gun wasn’t included in this midseason update.
Additionally, new Call of Duty seasons usually include new maps, modes, seasonal events and new camo challenges. Data miners also suggest this season could potentially include a crossover with the Warhammer 40K franchise. Data miners even found several references to a suggested crossover with The Walking Dead and operator bundles for Rick Grimes and Michonne.
For Zombies, leaks suggest the new season could include schematics for the Blood Burner Aether Bike and the V-R11 wonder weapon. Another suggests exfil streaks, similar to those found in MW2’s DMZ mode, could arrive with a future Zombies update.
Nothing has been officially announced by Activision, but we’ll likely learn more about Season 2 near the end of January.
Season 1 Reloaded is a short midseason update, but the new content included Ranked Play for multiplayer, more features for Warzone, and a new warlord boss for Zombies. The update arrived broken with several delays, but most of the major issues have been resolved.
