Valid through the end of the second quarter of 2026, the promotion marks one of the most generous Xbox Game Pass offers in recent years.
Many modern gaming laptops have launched with complimentary Xbox Game Pass memberships. In most cases, however, these promotions include only short trial-style subscriptions rather than substantial offers, as demonstrated by the 2025 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 laptop and its month-long Xbox Game Pass subscription. That wider context makes Microsoft’s latest promo stand out much more clearly.

Microsoft Launches Generous College Laptop Bundles with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
Beginning April 15, Microsoft is offering U.S. college students four bundles pairing Windows 11 laptops with 12 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, 12 months of Microsoft 365 Premium, and custom Xbox controllers that buyers get to design themselves via Xbox Design Lab. Making matters even more compelling, every single notebook included in the promotion is currently available at a steep discount.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3x is the least expensive model in the lineup, with Best Buy currently selling it for $499.99, a discount of $250. Next is the HP OmniBook X Flip, another 2025 laptop, which the same retailer is offering for $749.99, or $200 below its regular price. The HP Victus follows at $949.99, with HP selling it directly at a $450 discount. The highest-end model included in the promotion is the Alienware 16 Aurora, which Dell is currently offering for $1,299.99, or $220 off. All four notebooks ship with Windows 11, which has been the most-used version of Microsoft’s operating system since July 2025.

Every eligible purchase qualifies for 1 year of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, 1 year of Microsoft 365 Premium, and a free design-your-own Xbox Wireless Controller.
The Ultimate College Bundle offer is available until June 30, 2026. To redeem it, buyers must purchase an eligible device and verify their student status by email, with instructions on how to do so being sent automatically. Eligible buyers will receive a redemption code by email within three days of completing verification, which they can then use to claim the full bundle. Individual subscriptions to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Microsoft 365 Premium are available only to new subscribers and cannot be used to extend existing memberships.

Microsoft’s gaming service is the most valuable item in the current promotional offer.
