Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has just received its long-awaited Mega Man DLC pack. This paid DLC adds two new racers to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, along with one new Machine, one new racecourse, and a selection of music all inspired by or taken directly from Capcom’s classic platformer franchise.
This Mega Man pack is the fourth paid DLC to hit Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds since launch, with the first three bringing characters from Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Pac-Man to the kart racer. Two more paid DLCs are planned to hit Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in 2026, those being a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem pack and an Avatar Legends pack. These paid DLCs have been joined by an array of free content drops as well, with characters like Hatsune Miku, Persona 5‘s Joker, Like a Dragon‘s Ichiban Kasuga, and Super Monkey Ball‘s AiAi all joining Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds‘ roster for free in the last six months.

Much like the Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Pac-Man DLCs that preceded it, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds‘ Mega Man DLC pack features new racers, a new kart, a new course, new music, and an assortment of additional cosmetics. To mark the DLC’s release on March 26, SEGA released a minute-long trailer showcasing most of the Mega Man DLC’s new content. Mega Man and Proto Man are shown speeding their way through the new Wily Castle track while the series’ iconic main theme blares in the background. A new Mega Buster item is also teased in the trailer, with it seemingly giving players the chance to blast opponents in front of them.

To obtain this new Mega Man-themed content, players have two purchasing options to consider. Owners of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds can either purchase the Mega Man DLC pack by itself for $5.99, or purchase the $29.99 Season Pass, which will give them immediate access to the Mega Man pack and all previously released DLC, and will eventually grant them access to the upcoming TMNT and Avatar packs when they launch later this year. Those who own the Deluxe Edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds should already have access to the Season Pass.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds’ Mega Man Festival Begins March 26
To celebrate the launch of this Mega Man DLC, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is hosting a limited-time ‘Mega Man Festival’ which begins on March 26 at 8pm ET and runs until March 29 at 7:59pm ET. Participating in this limited-time event will reward players Festival Points, which they can redeem to earn a variety of in-game goodies. These rewards range from cosmetics like a “Blue Flash” titlecard, some decals, and a Mega Man-themed horn effect, to a new Item Buster Kit Gadget. While these Mega Man Festival rewards could be offered for free at a later date, the only way players can obtain them currently is by participating in the event this weekend.
