A robot waiter at a popular restaurant started dancing and wouldn’t stop, forcing staff to restrain the bot as he waved his arms around like he just didn’t care.

As seen in a viral video clip posted on Tuesday and reported by Futurism, a robotic waiter (a thing that exists, apparently) was recorded randomly walking up to a counter at a hot pot restaurant in San Jose, California, and slamming it with its arms as it began dancing in the middle of the dining area. A nearby staff member grabbed what appears to be a handle on the back of the robot and tried to control it, but it just kept on dancing, baby!

Eventually, other staff members got involved and tried to help wrangle the robot, which appears to have started dancing during a Zootopia-themed event at the restaurant. Three different staff members struggled to contain the groovin’ bot as it swung its arms about as if nobody was watching. After a few minutes of struggling with the robot and tinkering with an app on a phone, the staff at the hot pot joint finally got the bot to stop shakin’ what its momma gave it.

While this is quite funny, I can’t help but notice that this bot is flailing its arms around without any concern for what’s near it. This could have easily led to an injury if someone had been close to the bot when this happened. The robotic waiters are used by the business to deliver food to patrons, among other small tasks. Thankfully, nobody was hurt during this random robot dance attack, and in the future, I bet the restaurant might invest in a better “Off Button” for its dance-loving robot waiter.
