December 4 Will Be a Big Day for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Fans

Thursday, December 4, is suddenly a huge day for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone players, as publisher Activision has finally confirmed that the shooter’s highly anticipated Season 1 update will begin in less than two weeks. A full roadmap for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 1 will be shared tomorrow, November 24, but developer Treyarch Studios has already given fans a sneak peek at what’s to come with the game’s first major content update.

Earlier this week, fans were treated to the return of Nuketown 2025 as part of a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 update. The iconic map now joins the likes of Raid, Express, and Hijacked to be remastered for the latest entry in the series. But if that wasn’t enough, Treyarch Studios has already announced that both Standoff and Meltdown, two iconic Black Ops 2 maps, will join the game for free as part of Black Ops 7‘s Season 1 update. It remains unclear whether both will be added at launch or spread out across the season, but fans don’t have long to wait before they find out.

When Does Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 1 Start?

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 1 begins on Thursday, December 4.

It’s been a little over one week since the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, but Activision is wasting no time in getting fans hyped for even more content to check out, as the publisher has now revealed that the game’s first season will kick off on Thursday, December 4. A full roadmap with official details on all of the new content will be revealed on November 24, but we do know that the beginning of Season 1 will see Call of Duty: Warzone, the free-to-play Battle Royale title, fully integrated with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. This means all of the latest guns and cosmetic items will soon be usable inside of Warzone.

Ahead of Season 1, Treyarch Studios has stayed true to its word and released a significant balancing update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on November 21. The patch included some much-needed nerfs, buffs, bug fixes, and UI improvements. One of the most notable changes came to the Drone Pod Field Upgrade, which had its charge time increased from 2.5 to 3 minutes, its active drone duration reduced from 10 to 8 seconds, and the damage reduced from 60 to 50.

There was also a slight change to Aim Assist in Black Ops 7 with the game’s latest update. While Treyarch Studios nerfed Aim Assist quite drastically between the Beta and full release, it has now slightly buffed the feature. As detailed in the official patch notes, the minimum Rotational Aim Assist penalty has been reduced from 35% to 25%. Treyarch explained how the studio’s goal with these continued changes to Aim Assist is to provide the most competitive experience for all players and inputs.
