Bungie releases update 7.3.6.4 for Destiny 2, making another special ammo change in the Competitive playlist, adding a trio of Crucible maps, while also addressing a number of bugs in activities like Pantheon and Onslaught. Since the launch of Into the Light, Destiny 2 has seen a resurgence of sorts from the community, with returning weapons like Mountaintop and Luna’s Howl, alongside new activities like Onslaught, Pantheon, and The Whisper, players have certainly found new things to enjoy while waiting for the highly anticipated Final Shape expansion.

Even with the influx of all this new content inside the current Season of the Wish, Bungie has continued to tweak the overall experience, adding quality of life features like giving players more ways to earn Deepsight Weapons they may have missed from the past few seasons. One of the biggesr reveals is Bungie’s decision to end weapon sunsetting, allowing players to fully use their saved legacy weapons with full power relevance, something many players never expected to see. With big changes set to arrive next month, Bungie continues to release smaller updates in the meantime to further improve the current Destiny 2 experience.

Bungie notifies the Destiny 2 community of a bug with the game’s Onslaught activity, which may prevent players from progressing beyond wave 20.

For Crucible fans, today’s Destiny 2 update makes good on Bungie’s PvP overhaul plans revealed back in February. In addition to various tweaks and updates made to the Crucible over the past few months, Update 7.3.6.4 adds three new maps for players to experience, called Cirrus Plaza, Eventide Labs, and Dissonance. Better yet, a new playlist called New Territory has been added, featuring these maps exclusively through 3v3 specific game modes, like Survival, Elimination, Clash, and Collision. For those who check out this temporary playlist, which will be replaced by the usual 3v3 Quickplay node at the end of Season of the Wish, they’ll be awarded with a new Slaycation emblem.

Outside of the PvP maps, special ammo has again been tweaked inside of the Competitive playlist, dropping exclusively following final blows from primary weapons regardless if that player was carrying special ammo or not. Special and Heavy weapon final blows will not spawn a special ammo brick, though the player who was defeated will lose their ammo.

In addition, Pantheon and Onslaught, the two newest modes added during Destiny 2‘s Into the Light update, have seen multiple issues fixed as well. In terms of the Raid oriented Pantheon activity, players should now be able to finish runs after entering from a saved checkpoint, and adept weapons will have the correct perks after the first Platinum run clear. For Onslaught, players will now be teleported to the correct ADU location after Pyramid and boss phases. The Extinguish modifier on Heatwaves no longer ends runs if the party dies, and killing bosses too quickly no longer prevents Onslaught progress.
