Destiny 2: Xur Exotic Armor, Weapon, and Recommendations for May 10

Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. It was a big week for Destiny 2 players, even with the BRAVE Arsenal weapons wrapping up. Three new Crucible maps released alongside the Destiny 2 Weekly Reset, combined into a special 3v3 playlist called New Territory. Not only can players check out these maps in the dedicated playlist, but doing so before the season comes to an end will earn a special emblem.

However, the arrival of New Territory has had an unforeseen consequence for players waiting for Trials of Osiris. While the weekend mode was on hiatus last week due to Iron Banner, Bungie announced that Trials of Osiris would be skipping a second consecutive weekend. While fans were left disappointed, the reasoning behind the switch is to allow players more opportunities to check out the New Territory playlist on its first weekend being available. Bungie did confirm that Trials would be back on May 17 and would feature one of the three new maps until the end of the season.

While there are no Trials, players can visit the exotic merchant Xur and check out an all-new selection of exotics and legendary gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of May 10, 2024.

Where is Xur?

Over the next few days, players should head on over to the Tower Hangar.

As usual, fast travel to The Tower and after loading in, run to the left and down the stairs into the Hangar. Again, head to the left side of the area to find Xur standing on the back catwalks overlooking the snowy mountains in the distance. .

Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur’s Exotic Armor

Aeon Soul – Warlock Gauntlets

Exotic Perks:

• Sect of Force temporarily increases player reload speed and weapon swap speed after rapid precision hits. Taking down a champion or boss also gives nearby fireteam members a burst of grenade and melee energy.
• Sect of Vigor gives the player class energy when teammates die, then gains full class energy after reviving. When nearby players cast their super, allies gain a burst of healing.
• Sect of Insight has a chance to drop an orb of power after precision weapon takedowns. When using a finisher on an elite enemy, special ammo is dropped. Using a finisher on a boss or miniboss, heavy ammo drops instead.

Once again, the highest roll belongs to Warlocks this week, coming in at an eye-watering 70 overall. Unfortunately, that exotic is Aeon Soul, which is certainly better than it used to be and has usability, but it’s not likely going to be in high demand. It’s also worth mentioning that the mobility on this is much higher than what Warlocks need.

Liar’s Handshake – Hunter Gauntlets

Exotic Perk:

• Cross Counter – Using your Arc melee ability or being hit by a melee attack will allow you to follow up with an extremely powerful melee counterpunch that will heal you.

One of the better arc-focused exotics for Hunters, this gear packs a punch. While it may not hit Destiny 2 bosses quite as hard as it once did, it’s still a fun exotic to utilize.

• Recovery +2
• Discipline +18
• Intellect +2
• Strength +12

ACD/0 Feedback Fence – Titan Gauntlets

Exotic Perk:

• Fury Conductors – Melee hits grant Armor Charge, and you take less melee damage while you have Armor Charge. Taking melee damage causes you to emit a burst of damaging Arc energy that Jolts targets, consuming your Armor Charge and dealing more damage based on the number of stacks consumed.

An interesting roll with a lot of peaks and valleys, though thankfully, the right stats are higher than others. Either way, this is a solid exotic to pick up this weekend.

Xur’s Exotic Weapon

Lord of Wolves is back again after appearing just a few weeks ago. As expected, it gives players 2 different firing options from a powerful short burst solar damage, to a full auto blast.

Weapon Perks:

• Shrapnel Launcher – Fires a powerful short-range burst of Solar damage.
• Release the Wolves – Greatly increases rate of fire and shoots in full auto.
• Chambered Compensator
• Extended Mag
• Short-Action Stock

Hawkmoon Hand Cannon Perks

At this point, Xur is only selling Hawkmoon with randomized rolls, but its time is limited once Harbinger is ultimately added to the Exotic Mission Rotator and makes the hand cannon craftable. Either way, here is the roll Xur has this weekend:
