Diablo 4: Lord Of Hatred Pre-Load Times
To make it easier to jump straight in once the expansion launches, Blizzard is allowing players to pre-download Lord of Hatred prior to release. Even players who aren’t purchasing the expansion will be able to pre-download the game’s 3.0 patch update. For users on Battle.net, Xbox, and PlayStation, pre-downloads will go live on April 23 at 4 PM PT. Those playing Diablo 4 via Steam, however, will have to wait until launch day.
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred introduces some major changes to Blizzard’s ARPG. In addition to concluding the Hatred Saga, it will dramatically rework class skill trees by removing passive skills, revamp Diablo 4’s endgame with the new Warplans system, introduce 12 different Torment difficulties, and much more. Many of those changes will be live for all Diablo 4 players regardless of who owns the new expansion, though Lord of Hatred adopters will be able to play two new classes, the Warlock and Paladin, and harness the power of the Horadric Cube.
In GameSpot’s Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred review-in-progress, writer Jessica Cogswell said the expansion provides “the best narrative arc in Diablo history” and is a “must-play” for how it amplifies Diablo 4’s “best qualities while also introducing fantastic quality-of-life updates.”
