Diablo 4 Season 14 has made some significant changes to the drop rates in Mythic Uniques and Mythic Seals, neither of which were mentioned in the patch notes. While Mythic Uniques will now drop less frequently in Diablo 4 Season 14, players can expect to see many more Mythic Seal drops, a major complaint from the previous season.

Mythic Uniques are among Diablo 4‘s most powerful items, dropping every time with 800 Item Power and at least one Greater Affix. Because of their power, there is only a small selection of Mythic Uniques in the game. However, during Diablo 4 Season 13, these items were dropped in abundance. While this was good for those who wanted to round out their endgame builds with ease, it arguably did make them a little less special last season.

Diablo 4 Season 14 Has an S-Tier Build That’s Basically a 2-for-1 Deal

One S-Tier build for Diablo 4 Season 14 is a double dose of damage that blends two powerful archetypes into a single play style.

Diablo 4 Nerfs Mythic Drop Rates in Season 14, Buffs Mythic Seal Drops

A new video from Diablo 4 creator wudijo has highlighted some important Mythic changes in Season 14. Mythic Unique drop rates have been heavily nerfed, making it much more difficult to obtain any of these powerful items. Given the reworks to Mythics in Diablo 4 Season 14 across the board, it’s interesting that Blizzard has chosen now to make it harder to obtain them.

The other significant change comes in the form of Mythic Seals. Throughout Season 13, these newly-added items were controversial. While powerful, they rarely dropped at all, and community sentiment was that it was possible to play for the duration of Season 13 without obtaining any. This meant that most Diablo 4 endgame builds simply ignored them entirely. No longer – wudijo notes a massive increase in drop rates for Mythic Seals in Diablo 4 Season 14, and points out that he has already obtained two, just days into the season. Hopefully, this change results in these items becoming a much more viable choice for endgame builds.

What is perhaps interesting here is that neither change was initially mentioned in the Diablo 4 Season 14 patch notes. Although the patch notes do feature plenty of adjustments to Mythics, there is no mention of drop rate changes, but it hasn’t taken players long at all to realize how Mythic Uniques and Seals have been changed by Blizzard.

Diablo 4 has been on a serious hot streak over the last few seasons, but it feels as though the broad reception to Season 14 is a little colder than usual. This isn’t uncommon, and there is no doubt that Blizzard will be quick to listen to player feedback and ensure future seasons learn from its current mistakes. That’s why Diablo 4 is in such a strong place at the moment – because the developer has listened to the player base over the years, taking the game in the right direction (even with a couple of missteps along the way).
