Disney Dreamlight Valley is adding a new villager to the game soon, and a new teaser gives a strong indication that it’s a character with an extremely long history with Disney. Disney Dreamlight Valley is constantly adding new villagers to the game with their own stories to explore, and fans have been trying to decipher who is next since the Disney Dreamlight Valley roadmap rolled out.

Disney Dreamlight Valley released a content roadmap teasing what fans could expect from the game in 2024, but it remained fairly cryptic about who would be added to the title. Fans have been left guessing this whole time with not much more than the promise of a “very lucky villager” coming to the game. However, the developers of the game have now given a little more information to go off of, and it is pointing to one classic character that has had a resurgence in recent years.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Update 10 Adding Animal Crossing-Like Feature

The creators of Disney Dreamlight Valley reveal a new Animal Crossing-like feature that will appear in the game’s upcoming Update 10.

Disney Dreamlight Valley released a small teaser on Twitter dropping some clues as to who could be coming to the game. The text indicates that a rift in time in Disney Dreamlight Valley has led to the dialogue box in-game and the social media channel’s avatar changing, which are now black and white and look akin to a text box that would pop up during a silent movie, or in this case, a silent cartoon. The black and white image, text box, rift in time, and previously mentioned “lucky” qualities all seem to point to one character: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

Who is Oswald the Lucky Rabbit?

Although Oswald has had something of a return in recent times, it’s quite possible that some people haven’t heard of him. Oswald has a long history going back with Disney and Universal, with its creation dating back to 1927. Back then, Universal Studios was trying to break into the cartoon market, and Disney created Oswald to sell to the studio. Oswald became a big hit for Universal starting with his first approved silent cartoon, Trolley Troubles, and the earnings helped Disney to expand its own studio at the same time. While Oswald went on to be featured in cartoons through 1938, Disney went on to create Mickey Mouse for itself, who would eventually become the Disney mascot known worldwide.

In 2006, Disney regained the rights to Oswald, which led to the rabbit appearing in Epic Mickey in 2010. Since then, the character has popped up across a few media projects from Disney, as well as its theme parks.

Oswald being added to Disney Dreamlight Valley would be paying tribute to one of the cartoon characters that started everything for the Disney company. Fans shouldn’t have too long to wait to learn what’s coming to the game next.
