The Pokemon franchise is about to get a brand-new official Ditto form design with an upcoming release. The series’ 30th anniversary has been front and center for the entirety of 2026, as The Pokemon Company has released new products, games, spin-offs, collaborations, in-game events, and in-person events to celebrate with fans. Among the many new Pokemon releases in 2026 were the Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen ports in February, multiple major events in Pokemon GO, the 30th Celebration set for Pokemon TCG, and more.
The year is not over, though, and more celebratory releases are bound to come out before 2027 rolls over. Interestingly, Pokemon is hinting at a mysterious release on November 30, with social media posts serving as a countdown, and fans speculate this could be the planned launch date for Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire ports on Switch and Switch 2. It could very well be something else entirely, though, and the breadth of collabs with Pokemon in 2026 is a testament to the endless possibilities for the franchise, going from LEGO sets to Fender guitars.
Pokemon’s Ditto is Making an Official Comeback in November With New Design
On November 6, a new bundle called “Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration Ditto Premium Collection” will be released, featuring the iconic Kantonian Pokemon Ditto and a Cherubi transformation design for the first time in the series. Though Ditto has transformed into many different Pokemon over the years in the anime, Pokemon TCG, or even official merchandise, like plushies, it has never turned into Cherubi. The new Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration bundle comes with a card display, eight 30th Celebration boosters, and a new Ditto promo featuring the critter’s typical expression on a Cherubi. In the series, Ditto can transform into any other Pokemon, and the card reflects this with an attack called Surprisingly Transform.

GameRant Quiz
Outside of being the protagonist in the Golden Joystick Game of the Year nominee Pokemon Pokopia, Ditto has appeared as many other Pokemon in recent plush product lines, often featuring as popular critters like Gengar, Eevee and Eeveelutions, Snorlax, Spiritomb, Mimikyu, and many others. However, the Ditto face gimmick had never been used with Cherubi before, and it may never appear on some critters whose faces are partly hidden, split into different parts, or simply don’t fit thematically. Pokemon designs that are more intimidating in nature may not work well with the derpy Ditto face shown in the new promo 30th Celebration card.
The 30th Celebration set is possibly one of the best releases in the TCG in quite some time, as it’s more generous with pulls on average, and it features plenty of new cards with great designs as well as old ones reprinted with the 30th anniversary Pikachu logo. The “Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration Ditto Premium Collection” bundle’s MSRP was set at $39.99, but since this features a unique card, it’s unfortunately being scalped. Nintendo’s official stance against scalping has helped the hobby a bit, but the problem remains.
For those interested in special promo cards, Pokemon TCG revealed new official McDonald’s promos. These won’t be quite as valuable as the Ditto promo from the 30th Celebration bundle, should the product remain scarcely available, but they will be fun to collect.
