Whether you prefer Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, or the Switch, a new game starring Jay and Silent Bob is right around the corner for fans to jump into. Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl brought forth a fun retro-inspired side-scroller back in 2020, but returning developer Interabang Entertainment is kicking things up a notch this time around. This newcomer is called Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch, and it’s gearing up to launch on Steam and consoles on the only date a Jay and Silent Bob game should: April 20.

There are plenty of great beat-em-up side-scrollers to choose from out there, but Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch looks like a special addition to the roster. It doesn’t just look fun because it’s another wacky Jay and Silent Bob spin-off. The game genuinely looks like a great brawler. Some of the best brawler games of the last few years have blended awesome art design with fast-paced, punchy gameplay, and this combination seems to make up the heart of Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch.

The 30 Best Local Co-Op Games on Steam (Couch & Split-Screen Included)

Steam has so many great couch co-op games, and here are the best ones to play right now in 2026.

Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch Might Be One of the Year’s Most Slept-On Fighting Games

This fun-loving beat-em-up was just recently announced, and it seems to have flown under a lot of gamers’ radars. I’m a big fan of Jay and Silent Bob and Kevin Smith’s View Askewniverse, and I even just realized that it existed a few days ago. A new trailer was released earlier this month, and the fact that gamers have less than a month to wait until it’s here is extra exciting. Chronic Blunt Punch and 2020’s Mall Brawl are their own unique movie tie-ins, but these two games definitely aren’t the first time that these characters have showed up in games. Just last year, Jay and Silent Bob Call of Duty skins were released for Black Ops 6 and Warzone.

Between this duo and Call of Duty‘s Beavis and Butt-Head skins, last year featured a lot of seriously nostalgic cosmetics. I’ll never forget the first time I watched Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I was at a sleepover and way too young to be watching it, but it’s cemented in my brain as my introduction to the goofy world of stoner comedies. As the name implies, Chronic Blunt Punch is filled to the brim with this brand of humor. It also boasts some really great visuals, too, though.

Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch is Completely Hand-Drawn

Mall Brawl had its own charming retro pixelated graphics, but Chronic Blunt Punch features some really eye-catching hand-drawn art. Heavily stylized and wonderfully over-the-top, Chronic Blunt Punch‘s visuals are one of its shining features. From the trailer alone, the game looks like stepping into a cartoon starring Jay and Silent Bob. The exaggerated poses and actions of the characters and detailed level designs are seriously impressive. Games with great art design have a leg up on standing out in the competition, because the visuals alone immediately draw a lot of gamers in.

It Wouldn’t Be a Jay and Silent Bob Story if Players Had to Fight Alone

Chronic Blunt Punch supports single-player gamers, but it also features couch co-op. A game starring Jay and Silent Bob just wouldn’t feel right without co-op. Chronic Blunt Punch looks like it’s taking pages out of other movie tie-in games like Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game, but it’s filled with its own series staples. The duo’s signature Quick Stop, the streets of New Jersey, and a mall are just a few of the stages where players will fight Jay and Silent Bob’s foes. Of course, there is also going to be loads of crude humor.

Other Features Confirmed for Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch

  • Voice acting from Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes
  • Wild combat that emphasizes combos
  • Cameos from beloved Jay and Silent Bob characters
  • Super Moves: special moves that freeze time and transform Jay and Silent Bob into Bluntman and Chronic

Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch Might Be a Perfect Option for Both Brawler Fans and Movie Lovers

As a self-professed pop culture fiend, seeing movie tie-in games that actually look well-done is really exciting. There are a lot of bad movie tie-in games out there, but Chronic Blunt Punch looks like it has the right idea of how to go about translating a movie into a video game. It’s not trying anything too deep. Chronic Blunt Punch is simply celebrating the franchise that paved the way for this game to even exist. Raunchy comedies were everywhere between the mid 90s and mid 2000s. From American Pie to Road Trip, this genre isn’t really around anymore. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is still regarded by many as one of the most iconic movies of the 2000s, so fans who have been feeling nostalgic about the days of low-budget crude comedies may want to check out Chronic Blunt Punch.

The characters of Jay and Silent Bob were first introduced in 1994’s Clerks. Kevin Smith’s cult classic comedy is famous for being made for only $27,000.

Even gamers who don’t have an attachment to Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back may want to check out Chronic Blunt Punch, though. Those who love action-packed brawler mechanics, hand-drawn visuals, and off-beat vulgar humor could have an ideal game to jump into. To make things even more enticing, Chronic Blunt Punch is also easy on the wallet. Gamers only have to pay $20 for this beat-em-up. With constantly increasing prices, it can be hard to find the best game deals. Chronic Blunt Punch sounds like a great budget-friendly option, though.

Chronic Blunt Punch probably isn’t going to be winning the Game of the Year award or anything, but it looks like a lot of fun. When it comes to brawlers, that’s all that really matters. The biggest games of 2026, like GTA 6 and Fable, have taken up most of the spotlight. This makes it really easy to get lost in the noise, but brawler fans and movie lovers will hopefully check out Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch when it launches on April 20.
