Capcom reveals planned changes to Dragon’s Dogma 2 inside an upcoming April patch and gives players a sneak peek at what they can expect to see once it arrives. Capcom’s return to its action RPG series has proven to be a hit with fans and critics alike, especially for those who enjoy customizing their Pawn helpers through the detailed character creator. Still, for all of its successes, Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched with a number of issues which Capcom has been busy attempting to fix.

Despite Dragon’s Dogma 2 selling 2.5 million copies a week after launch, many players have run into numerous issues or technical problems, including a rough framerate. Capcom has continued to stay in communication with fans to provide vrief looks at what the studio has coming, highlighting some of the bigger issues facing the game to attempt to appease upset players. Some recent patches have gone down better than others, with many criticizing the studio for using overly vague descriptions within patch notes. With a big April update planned in the next week or so, Capcom has given fans another glimpse at what’s on the horizon.

Taking to social media, the official Dragon’s Dogma 2 Twitter account has laid out some of the bigger planned fixes and adjustments to be made as part of the april update. While there isn’t a timeline in place as of yet, April is rapidly approaching its end, so the patch should be arriving sooner than later. In addition to odd behaviors and bugs, the update is planning to make big adjustments to the pawn system as well as Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s unique Dragonsplague status effect.

What’s Changing In the Dragon’s Dogma 2 April Update?

The April Update seems to be targeting the behavior patterns and dialogue of Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s Pawns, as Capcom revealed a ton of tweaks. This includes updating spoken dialogue to better match the current circumstances, reducing how often some lines are spoken, lowering the chances of Pawn’s falling off cliffs, and improving their AI behavior to help the player if they’re being held by the enemy. In addition, Capcom is tweaking the Dragonsplague so that it is less infectious and making those afflicted with it more noticeable through stronger looking glowing eyes. Outside of that, Capcom is planning on a number of quality of life improvements as well, such as removing treasure chest icons from the minimap that have already been opened.

Response to the planned updates seemed largely to be mixed, with most in the comments upset that the long list of performance issues are still not being addressed. While it was known prior to launch that Dragon’s Dogma 2 had performance issues, many fans continue to feel frustrated by the lack of any real news or resolutions to these problems. Some have even taken an extreme route by murdering NPCs in the game to reduce the characters on screen and thereby improving performance slightly. Either way, it appears players will need to wait a bit longer until these issues are resolved.
