EA has been hit with more layoffs, with some impacted employees reportedly having been at the company for ten years or more. Those who have been laid off from EA may find it difficult to find more work in the field, as it’s been a tumultuous time in the game industry as a whole, with layoffs and closures being announced at studios all over the world in 2026 alone.
EA Game is Permanently Shutting Down This Month
Fans of EA-published games on consoles are running out of time to play one of its games, as its shutdown is right around the corner.
The number of layoffs at EA is currently unknown, but according to Kotaku, workers have been impacted in the US and in India, with a mix of remote roles and in-person positions. The teams impacted include customer support, IT, recruitment, and more. An email sent sent to the customer support team from a department head hinted at the layoffs a week prior to the move, which had indicated that changes would be made to “some roles,” with changes to what teams are covering. Allegedly, the move would also include “creating new roles,” so some may have also seen some shake-ups while still managing to hold onto a job at the company. These aren’t the first layoffs at the company in recent history, as EA’s Battlefield Studios also saw layoffs earlier in 2026.
