Time is running out for fans of Real Racing 3 to play the mobile racing game, as EA is sunsetting its servers on March 20. While it’s always disappointing whenever any video game is shut down, EA at least gives fans advance notice so they can get their fill of the games before they meet their unfortunate demise.
In fact, EA keeps a running list of all the games it is planning on shutting down soon, and it’s updated on a fairly regular basis. Already in 2026, EA has shut down Anthem, The Sims Mobile, and NBA Live 19, with plans to shut down at least seven more games before the year is out. Chances are that even more games will be added to the list of titles EA is shutting down this year, though they have yet to be specified. The next EA game on the chopping block is Real Racing 3, and for anyone interested in getting in some final sessions with the game while it’s still live, the clock is ticking.

When is the Real Racing 3 Shutdown Date?
Real Racing 3 is shutting down on March 20. From that day forward, Real Racing 3 will effectively cease to exist. And it’s not just that Real Racing 3‘s online features are being shuttered. The game is being completely shut down to the point where it will be unplayable, with no offline options available like is sometimes the case. Anyone that has purchased any Real Racing 3 currency will want to make sure that they spend it between now and then, as it will be unusable when the shutdown occurs.

If you are someone that is interested in playing Real Racing 3 before the shutdown but has never downloaded it before, you are out of luck. Real Racing 3 was delisted on December 18, months ahead of the March 20 shutdown, which means anyone that didn’t already have it downloaded can’t download it now. However, if you are someone that maybe downloaded Real Racing 3 years ago and has just now found out about the shutdown and is interested in taking a trip down memory lane, you should be able to re-download it from the app library. Just note that the game no longer appears in the App Store or Google Play Store, so you won’t be able to find it there.
Real Racing 3 has been around since 2013, and while it may not be as popular as it once was, it still has people that enjoy it that will no longer get to play it after March 20. The Simpsons: Tapped Out fans were in the exact same situation last year, and despite fans creating petitions begging EA to keep the servers online, that game was ultimately shut down as well. The Simpsons: Tapped Out has since been revived in an unofficial capacity through fan servers, but it’s unclear if the same will happen for Real Racing 3.

Real Racing 3 is far from the last game EA is shutting down in 2026. The PS3 version of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is shutting down on April 28. Then, EA Sports FC Tactical is shutting down on May 7, while Madden NFL 23 online services will be shuttered on July 13. Apex Legends on the Nintendo Switch will shut down on August 4, though other versions of the game will remain available. Finally, both NHL 22 and NHL 23 are shutting down on August 31. Fans of EA-published games will want to keep an eye out for more game closure announcements in the weeks and months ahead.
