The Epic Games Store has formally revealed Sorry We’re Closed as its free game for October 29. The critically acclaimed title will be the sole star of the final weekly giveaway that the Epic Games Store will run in October 2026.
Created by UK studio à la mode games, Sorry We’re Closed is a survival horror game with retro graphics and a perspective-shifting gimmick that frequently moves the action between first- and third-person views. The former is primarily used for shooting sections, while the latter draws inspiration from the fixed camera angles employed by genre-defining survival horror classics such as the early Resident Evil games. Sorry We’re Closed launched in November 2024 to excellent reviews, as reflected by its “Strong” OpenCritic rating, based on 52 reviews with an average score of 82 and an 86% recommendation rate.
Sorry We’re Closed Returning as One of Epic’s Free Games
This Time for a Full Week Rather Than a Mere Day

Sorry We’re Closed was officially announced as Epic’s free game for October 22. It will be available to claim until November 5 at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET / 4 p.m. CET. The promotion will mark the second time the 2024 title has been offered free to EGS users, but the first time it will remain up for grabs for a full week. Sorry We’re Closed previously appeared in the Epic Games Store’s most recent holiday giveaway, when it was free for just 24 hours, through December 22, 2025.
Epic Games Store Free Games Right Now (Oct 22 – Nov 5, 2026)
Sorry We’re Closed typically retails for $24.99. As things currently stand, it will feature in Epic’s first single-product giveaway in nearly two months. The last time Epic Games Store users were able to claim just one game was back in early September 2026 with Alone With You. That said, the proximity to Halloween leaves open the possibility of a surprise freebie next week, should Epic decide to mark October 31 with an additional giveaway (which it hasn’t consistently done in recent years).
In the meantime, Sker Ritual and Home are still available to claim on the Epic Games Store until October 29. Like Sorry We’re Closed, both are horror or horror-adjacent titles, making them a natural thematic fit for the EGS giveaways during the Halloween season. Starting November 5, Epic is likely to return to a more varied mix of limited-time freebies.
On a related note, one non-horror game is currently available to claim on the Epic Games Store. Called GetHigh.EXE, the freebie is a precision platformer inspired by the Get High movement map from the 2023 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 reboot. Despite overlapping with Epic’s ongoing promotion, the 100% discount on GetHigh.EXE is unrelated to the store’s weekly giveaways and is instead set to end on November 2.
