The 30th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise is drawing ever closer, and all eyes are on what Game Freak and The Pokemon Company will have in store for the series’ future. Although nothing has been officially confirmed, the massive TeraLeak of Pokemon information that has emerged over the past year points towards Gen 10 being a landmark entry in the series, allegedly being titled Pokemon Wind and Wave. Much has been leaked about the new region for Wind and Wave, which is said to be an island region based on Indonesia, but few details about the Gen 10 Pokedex have been made clear.
Recently, details about the broader region of Pokemon Wind and Wave have surfaced, including the different locations players can visit, the Gym types they will face, and the new “Majin” battle mechanic. As a result, players have a good idea of what to expect from the Gen 10 games, even if it isn’t official yet. However, despite the lack of concrete information about the Gen 10 Pokedex, there have been a few leaked images that include what appear to be returning critters players can expect to encounter in Pokemon Wind and Wave.
Pokemon Wind and Wave’s Leaked Gyms Basically Confirm the Elite Four Too
A recent leak detailed the types for most of Pokemon Wind and Wave’s major battles, making it clear which types the game is saving for its Elite Four.
Pokemon Leaked to Be in Wind and Wave So Far
The majority of the information leaked about Pokemon Wind and Wave comes from the TeraLeak of data that included in-progress builds of upcoming games like Wind and Wave. This info has been shared on X by CentroLeaks, but should still be taken with a grain of salt as things could have changed over the course of Gen 10’s development. Until Pokemon officially unveils the new games and their Pokedex, these leaks should still be treated as unconfirmed.

Some of the earliest leaked Pokemon for Gen 10 surfaced even before the Wind and Wave titles became known. This leak, posted by HiddenPowerPod on X, showed an image of Aron and Lairon in a screenshot supposedly of an in-progress build of the Gen 10 battle system. The post went on to detail that the original leaker also mentioned seeing Butterfree and Charjabug in the test build.
Several Gen 1 Pokemon have been leaked as well, including multiple instances of Charizard showing up in development screenshots shared by CentroLeaks. Along with Charizard, Pikachu and Machamp have also appeared, all of which are allegedly receiving redesigned models in Pokemon Wind and Wave. It would be very strange if Pokemon‘s mascot Pikachu wasn’t in the Gen 10 games, but it’s nice to know other popular Gen 1 critters are returning all the same.
Rotom has been leaked to be included via the game’s bike replacement, the Rotom Scooter. Lucario has also been seen in several development screenshots, making it highly likely that the Gen 4 Fighting/Steel type will be returning in some capacity. Sandygast and Mudsdale are also two Gen 7 mons that have appeared in leaked development screenshots, but it’s unclear if these are placeholders or if these mons are really planned to return in Gen 10.
Shinx and Gyarados are other critters that appear in what looks like a screenshot of the early Gen 10 battle system, so it’s possible they may not make it into the final game. There is also a video shared by CentroLeaks that shows Dondozo, Luvdisc, and Lumineon in an ocean biome. This footage appears designed to showcase the water physics of Gen 10, but it is still likely an early build of the game.
New Pokemon Coming to Gen 10’s Wind and Wave
There haven’t been many leaks about the new Gen 10 Pokemon coming in Wind and Wave, and those that have emerged are only descriptions. One new critter is described as a seed Pokemon that the player receives early in the game and can evolve into near-infinite variations depending on how the player cares for it on their journey. While the actual designs for the Gen 10 starters themselves haven’t surfaced, the method of obtaining them is said to involve capturing one to break up a traffic jam the starters are causing in the starting city, where the player arrives at the beginning of the game.

A renowned Pokemon leaker states that old classics from the Game Boy and GBA eras are coming back to the Switch for Pokemon’s 30th anniversary.
How Pokemon Wind and Wave’s Leaked Region Map Could Influence Gen 10’s Pokedex
A lot of what has been shown or described in these Pokemon Wind and Wave leaks so far sounds awfully familiar to the kinds of critters players could find in Pokemon Sun and Moon‘s Alola Region back in Gen 7. Seeing mons like Charjabug, Sandygast, and Mudsdale, some of Alola’s most iconic creatures, makes it seem like Gen 10 will strive for a similar feel with its Pokedex. There are also areas with leaked names suggesting certain Pokemon will appear, even if they haven’t been seen by leakers. For example, one island supposedly contains a location called Woobat Cave, so it’s likely that Woobat will be found here. Another area is called Anthill Fieldlands, which could imply that it is home to a critter like Durant, or the rumored new anti-inspired Pokemon.
Furthermore, there will almost assuredly be a lot of water in Pokemon Wind and Wave, since players are said to be island-hopping on their adventure. The presence of Water-type Pokemon like Dondozo, Luvdisc, and Lumineon is likely just the tip of the iceberg, as Pokemon Sun and Moon had nearly 60 species of Water types in its Pokedex. With over 1,000 critters now in the franchise, Wind and Wave may have a tough time paring down that number for its Pokedex, but until fans can get their hands on the full games, these leaks will have to paint a picture of what they can expect when Gen 10 finally launches.
