How to Destroy Rooms in Fallout Shelter

Room in Fallout Destroy option

Destroying Rooms in Fallout Shelter can be done in two clicks. All players need to do is:

  • Select the room you want to remove.
  • Open the Upgrade menu.
  • Click the Destroy button.

The process seems simple, but there are a couple of things you should be aware of. Certain factors may get in your way of destroying a room, and some of them are quite problematic to deal with.

What Prevents You From Destroying a Room in Fallout Shelter?

When you try to destroy a room in Fallout Shelter, you may run into one of several problems listed below:

There Is Someone in This Room

Before you destroy a room, you have to make sure that there are no citizens assigned to it. You can’t destroy a room if it’s occupied, so remove all your survivors from this structure and it should become destructible. You can do this by moving them to another room or asking them to leave your shelter.

Another Room Becomes Inaccessible

You can’t destroy a room if it serves as the only way to access another one. If this is the case, you will have to remove the room that initial room connects to. The room that you first wanted to remove should then become removable. However, this may cost you a lot and you should think twice before doing so.

You Want to Remove Living Quarters, but Don’t Have Enough Space for Your Citizens

This problem is unique to Living Quarters. This room serves as a shelter for your citizens, and it allows you to increase the maximum number of dwellers you can have in your bunker. If you want to remove such a room, you will have to make sure that there is enough space for your citizens. You may even need to build another Living Quarter in order to move them there.

This is everything you need to know to destroy a room in Fallout Shelter. However, it is better to plan your shelter well and avoid removing any structures.
