No matter how good your management skills are, sooner or later, your base in Fallout Shelter will exceed the size you can control by yourself. That’s when you will need Mr. Handy. Introduced in Fallout 3, this multi-armed robot is an integral part of this gaming universe and will be an excellent assistant for any task. By appointing this assistant as the head of a specific floor, it can replace several workers at once, doing all the work without additional instructions. However, the high usefulness is offset by the difficulty of obtaining this character. You can buy it with real money, but this is probably not a method that will suit everyone. However, there is an alternative way.

Fallout Shelter can be a punishing game. Here’s a look at some mistakes that players make which can ruin their experience.

How To Unlock Mr. Handy in Fallout Shelter

Mr Handy in Fallout Shelter

To unlock Mr. Handy in Fallout Shelter, players can use two methods:

  • Buy it for real money.
  • Get it as a random drop from a Lunchbox.

If you want to make your life easier or luck is not on your side, buying a pair of Mr. Handys might not be such a bad idea. By visiting the in-game store, you can buy this robot for $0.99, or a set of 5 Mr. Handys for $3.99. This offer seems pretty fair, considering the usefulness of this NPC. However, the opportunity to receive it as a free reward can be an argument against spending money.

The second method depends entirely on your luck and diligence. By opening Lunchboxes, you can get Mr Handy as a random reward on the Fifth card with a 0.2% chance. Yes, the chances of success are negligible, but not zero. You only need to focus on all possible tasks for which the Lunchbox is a reward. Rest assured, a Mr. Handy obtained using this method will be a much more pleasant reward than a simple purchase for real money.

Fallout Shelter can really put your skills to the test. Here’s a look at some tips and tactics to help your vault colony survive.

How To Use Mr Handy in Fallout Shelter

To make Mr. Handy work, you only need to assign it to a specific floor, like any other character. The limitation is that you cannot place more than one such robot on one floor, but there’s no need for that. Mr. Handy, when assigned to floor, will do all the work in each room without your instructions. Namely, it will do the following:

  • It will automatically collect all resources from each room.
  • This robot will also automatically prevent any emergencies, so you can be calm when leaving control in the iron hands of this character.
  • Mr. Handy will defend its floor by destroying the enemies and following them through all the rooms on that floor.

Even though Mr Handy’s body is quite durable, it can die from taking too much damage. In this case, you can revive it for 2,000 caps from a vault tab. Given the rarity and usefulness of this character, it’s worth the price to bring it back to life.

That’s all you need to know about Mr. Handy in Fallout Shelter. The life of this mechanical assistant is much more valuable than many shelter residents. However, you will need a lot of time or real financial investment to get it.
