Borderlands 4‘s Bounty Pack 2: Legend of the Stone Demon is set to arrive on February 26, 2026, bringing with it a host of new content as well as the addition of the long-awaited Pearlescent-rarity weapons. While a new Bounty Pack will be a fun addition to Borderlands 4, the Pearlescent rarity is likely to have a more significant impact on the game’s long-term future.

Borderlands 4 was widely seen as a return to form for the series, enjoying strong critical reviews, including a Top Critic Average of 82 on review aggregator site OpenCritic. After Borderlands 3 left a sour taste for many fans, the game was a shift back to basics, while still taking a big risk in embracing a more open-world approach. Despite a massive launch in September 2025, Borderlands 4 has quickly lost a huge chunk of its player count, even with Gearbox releasing tons of updates for the game. Its next challenge is figuring out how to bring back as many players to the game as possible throughout 2026 and beyond.

Hit the Jackpot — Borderlands 4’s DLC Vault Hunter Has a Golden Opportunity That Can’t Be Ignored

Borderlands 4’s C4SH is coming to the game very soon, and when he does, he should bring a standout feature from older games along with him.

Borderlands 4’s Bounty Pack 2 Launches February 26, Coming With Pearlescent Weapons

Borderlands 4‘s Bounty Pack 2: Legend of the Stone Demon is dropping on February 26, alongside a brand-new mission with three mini bosses and one final boss. Players will be given a new Vault Card, which allows them to earn 24 mecha and kaiju-themed cosmetic items. This includes four Vault Hunter skins, usable by any of the game’s Vault Hunters, five weapon skins, four Vault Hunter heads, two ECHO-4 attachments, four ECHO-4 Drone skins, and five vehicle skins. On top of this, there will also be four pieces of re-rollable gear to unlock by completing Daily and Weekly Challenges in-game. Completing the Bounty Pack’s new mission will reward another Vault Hunter skin for all characters, as well as a brand-new vehicle to traverse Kairos. Any player who purchased Borderlands 4‘s Deluxe or Super Deluxe Editions will automatically be granted access to Borderlands 4‘s Bounty Pack 2: Legend of the Stone Demon. Standard edition players will need to grab the Bounty Pack Bundle to get the latest batch of Borderlands 4 content.

Alongside Bounty Pack 2, Gearbox is also releasing Pearlescent weapon rarity in Borderlands 4 on February 26. This new weapon rarity is set to be rarer and (often) more powerful than Legendary weapons, with drop rates just above those of Phosphene items. It’s a complete game-changer, and will now be some of the most sought-after loot in Borderlands 4. To help get some early Pearlescent items, Gearbox is adding a new, repeatable world event in three set locations: Fadefields, Carcadia Burn, and Terminus Range. Pearlescent gear will drop in this world event, giving players a way to farm these items with some combat variety. Players do not need to own Bounty Pack 2 to get access to Borderlands 4 Pearlescents; it’s an update for everyone. However, there will be some Pearlescent items exclusive to the new Bounty Pack.

Borderlands 4 fans have plenty more to come throughout 2026. Next month, Gearbox is planning to release Borderlands 4‘s first Story Pack, Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned. This will be the most significant addition to the game so far, which will add its first post-launch Vault Hunter, C4SH, who was first revealed in September. Borderlands 4‘s post-launch roadmap for 2026 indicates a second Story Pack coming later this year, as well as a total of five Bounty Packs. Whether it is enough to revive Borderlands 4‘s player count remains to be seen.
