During EVO France, Arc System Works finally revealed its hand for the rest of the Year One Character Pass of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, confirming launch windows and the upcoming stage as well. It’s been a busy week for Arc System Works and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls as the game just came off revealing its first DLC character and now, fans know exactly who else is coming over the next 10 or so months.
While Phoenix Cyclops was originally announced all the way back in July at San Diego Comic-Con, fans would have to wait quite a while to see more on this twisted version of the classic X-Men leader. The trailer many were waiting for finally arrived early in October as ArcSys gave fans their first real look at Phoenix Cyclops in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. Launching on November 2, 2026, Phoenix Cyclops combines his iconic optic blasts with fire-based attacks, offering players enhanced power at the cost of health when utilizing the Dark Phoenix. Interestingly enough, the end of the trailer didn’t feature any sort of tease, something that Arc System Works has come to be known for with this Tokon trailers. Thankfully, fans didn’t have to wait too long for the rest of the cast to be revealed.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Year One DLC
Following the end of the Marvel Tokon: FIghting Souls tournament portion of EVO France and the crowning of its new champion Zando, Arc System Works played a new trailer for fans. The short footage confirmed the arrival of the second DLC character, The Mighty Thor aka Jane Foster’s version of the Asgardian. Being introduced by Loki, the footage shows someone walking up to Mjölnir, with the familiar message of whoever holds the hammer and is worthy shall possess the power of Thor. However, while many likely assumed the hand to be of Thor himself, Arc System Works has once again added a twist to the character by going with Jane Foster instead.

However, Thor was just the first reveal and while it didn’t offer any glimpses at what the character will play like, the rest of the trailer confirmed the full Year One lineup and when players could expect to get their hands on each one. Jane Foster is planned for a Winter 2027 launch, likely January or February 2027, followed in the Spring by Venom and a stage based on the Symbiote homeworld of Klyntar. Finally, rounding out the full Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Year One DLC roster and launching in the Summer of 2027 will be another X-Men character, Jubilee.
The final announcement alongside the characters is a couple of collaborations. The drawn character designs featured at the end of the trailer were done by Peach Momoko, while Mighty Thor’s theme song is performed by the first guest composer for Marvel Tokon, Keiichi Okabe. Fans will likely know his work from a variety of games and franchises, including the NieR and Tekken series. For those curious, each character and the Klyntar stage can be purchased separately or as a complete package in the Year One Character Pass. Ultimate Edition owners will be getting all of these characters as they’re released.
Interestingly enough, none of the revealed characters were part of the recent Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls roster leak. Back in August, dataminers seemingly discovered a list of characters within the files, from Daredevil and Doctor Strange to the Wasp and Gambit. The 3 remaining Year One DLC characters were seemingly absent from the list, leaving many to wonder if any of these leaked characters are instead part of Year 2 and beyond. To be fair, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened, as a datamine for Guilty Gear Strive, another Arc System Works fighting game, had a similar leak happen. One of the characters listed was fan favorite Jam Kuradoberi, though she wouldn’t actually arrive in the game until 5 years later, with some having yet to actually release at all so far.
