At EVO Japan 2026, Arc System Works revealed a brand-new trailer for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, completing the Avengers team with two previously unannounced characters. The roster for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is slowly coming together as the unique 4v4 fighter approaches its release date. With two teams left to announce, fans now have the complete four-character squad for the newly announced Fighting Avengers.
While fans held out hope for a new entry in the popular Marvel vs Capcom franchise, Arc System Works surprised fighting game fans in the summer of 2025 with its take on the tag fighter genre. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls ups the ante a bit by being a 4v4 fighter, taking familiar heroes from Marvel’s universe and adding some unique Japanese inspired elements to them, such as Iron Man using a Gundam-looking suit. With most fighting games, fans want to know which characters will be making the launch roster and with a ton of characters to pick from, there has been countless speculation over which teams will feature certain characters.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Introduces the Fighting Avengers
Since the original reveal and subsequent test builds of Marvel Tokon, fans have seen Iron Man and Captain America, assuming that there would be some sort of Avengers team featuring those two. At EVO Japan 2026, Arc System Works finally detailed the full team, which does include Iron Man and Captain America. Joining the group is the Incredible Hulk, voiced by Fred Tatasciore, a popular character featured previously in past Marvel fighting games, though Arc System Works has added a few unique touches to helpfully help this Hulk standout a bit from past versions.

For one, Hulk’s outfit features bone armor, giving him a bit more of a savage look. According to the accompanying blog post, producer Takeshi Yamanaka revealed that due to the Hulk’s immense power and instability, his teammates and other powerful organizations like S.H.I.E.L.D. ultimately chose to exile him to the Savage Lands. In terms of gameplay, Hulk is described as a character that can overwhelm opponents and features a Gamma Gauge that builds during combat. When it becomes full, Hulk enters a Gamma Rage state that boosts his speed and attack power, allowing players to deal one-shot attacks that deal massive damage.
Alongside Hulk, the final member of the Fighting Avengers is Black Panther, voiced by Erica Luttrell. However, this version is not T’challa, but his younger sister Shuri, similar to what fans have seen in the MCU’s version of Black Panther. In Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Shuri only recently claimed the mantle of Black Panther, and she remains Wakanda’s chief scientist as well, pushing her to maintain a balance of roles. She’s a quick and agile fighter, using the Spear of Bashenga and a high mobility skill called Bast’s Blessing, which allows her to dash in multiple directions while canceling normal attacks to help enable flexible combos and mixups.
However, new characters weren’t the only reveals inside this trailer. The Promoter made her return to officially confirm more about the game’s story and why these teams are being formed. As many rumors indicated, the major villain of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is The Champion, one of the Elders of the Universe who goes around challenging worthy opponents on various planets in hand-to-hand combat. Fail against the Champion and the planet is destroyed. In Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, he has ventured to Earth and set up the Challenge of the Champion to take on the mightiest heroes and villains.

In addition, Wakanda was also revealed as the latest map, following on the heels of Nowhere being confirmed for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls in the last trailer. A new build of the game will also be making the rounds at upcoming events like COmbo Break 2026 in Chicago and Hong Kong Comic Con 2026. The build will feature the Wakanda stage as well as adding Black Panther to the playable demo roster.
