Several details and images for Persona 6 have leaked online, with the latest showcasing a new character who will presumably serve as a confidant to the player character(s). As fans know, Confidants serve as companions in combat and serve as the basis for social gameplay mechanics, with several Persona 4 and Persona 5 social links being well-loved by fans. Its return is not a surprise whatsoever, but an expectation at this point.
It’s worth noting the timing of these leaks as well. Several big gaming events are about to take place, from Summer Game Fest to the Xbox Games Showcase, and it seems fans will be getting a look at Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6 at one of them. Of course, Persona 4 Revival is likely to release first, with Persona 6 releasing later, but a proper trailer and a teaser would not be surprising at this point.

Persona 6’s Confidant Character Leak
The new confidant character appears to be nicknamed “Sam” based on the leak, likely shorthand or a nickname for a real name, but that is unknown at this time. The image shows a female character who has long, dull blue hair, with two outfits: a black dress with a black bow, and an outfit with high-waisted black pants, a black corset of sorts, and a blue jean jacket. She appears to be older than the average Persona high schooler, suggesting she might be a typical upperclassman or simply the oldest member of the group, if not a more extended supporting character.

While all Persona 6 rumors and leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, what’s worth noting is that this image leaked online independently and was then supported/corroborated by known Persona leaker Lolilolaio. They mentioned how it went overlooked because of the recent protagonist leaks, but said that it was “funny that nobody paid attention to this one. They should.”
Of course, a confidant leak is super interesting as it may give fans a look at one character they’ll be spending a lot of time with, but at the same time, it’s hard to ignore the protagonist leak. In short, a recent Persona 6 protagonist leak gave fans actual images of the two protagonists: a boy and a girl, the former with blonde hair and the latter with black & red hair. It’s uncertain if this is a dual protagonist situation, although it seems more likely, or a gender selection situation, but it’s an exciting prospect either way.

Neither Sega nor Atlus has commented on these recent leaks, and neither company is likely to do so ahead of the proper reveal. And while these could be early leaks, the timing is unlikely to be a coincidence. Perhaps fans will get their first look at the Xbox Games Showcase or one of the other events happening soon, if not, but hopefully they do—fans have been waiting for Persona 6 for a long, long time.
