Popular indie horror franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s is getting its own themed restaurant, with a Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza set to officially open in 2027. The iconic horror series centers around the eponymous pizzeria that serves as the setting for most Five Nights at Freddy’s games.
The indie horror game developed by Scott Cawthon took the gaming world by storm following its release in 2014. Five Nights at Freddy’s spawned a wildly successful series with its simple but memorable gameplay, having released eleven main-series games and multiple spin-offs, bringing the franchise into numerous different genres. The popularity of Five Nights at Freddy’s has even spawned two feature films based on the series, both of which saw commercial success in theaters despite middling reviews from critics. Now, some fans of Five Nights at Freddy’s will soon have the opportunity to visit a real-world version of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.
Five Nights at Freddy’s Is Getting Its Own Restaurant
New Jersey shopping mall American Dream revealed that it will soon welcome the grand opening of a Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza restaurant. The listing for the restaurant on American Dream’s website promises an “immersive experience” inspired by the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise. The New Jersey-based restaurant is said to be a “functional reimagining” of the iconic restaurant from the horror franchise, with American Dream also confirming that Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza is planned to be a permanent fixture at the mall. The official announcement does not give a firm date for when Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza will open, but the grand opening is planned for sometime in 2027.
American Dream has offered some brief teasers about what fans will be able to experience at the Five Nights at Freddy’s restaurant. The real-world Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza will offer stage shows using the animatronics featured in the game, alongside food and arcade games. Foxy’s Pirate Cove was also confirmed to be part of the restaurant experience, though details about Foxy-themed activities have not been revealed. American Dream even teased “multiplayer horror experiences” that customers will be able to engage with, encouraging attendees to visit with friends to get the full Five Nights at Freddy‘s experience.
The new Five Nights at Freddy’s restaurant is far from the first popular video game to receive its own dining experience. Japan has regularly welcomed major restaurants based on some of the country’s most popular games, like Final Fantasy 14‘s Eorzea Cafe and Nintendo’s Super Family Restaurant at the Nintendo Museum. Many games and franchises have also collaborated with cafes and restaurant chains to host smaller tie-in events, such as Genshin Impact partnering with chains like KFC, Pizza Hut, and McDonald’s.
Five Nights at Freddy’s stands as one of indie gaming’s most enduring success stories, with the franchise growing with each passing year. Secret of the Mimic debuted in June 2025 as the newest game in the series, tasking players with exploring the eerie Murray’s Costume Manor and avoiding its animatronics. The second Five Nights at Freddy’s movie also premiered in 2025, picking up a year and a half after the events of the first movie. Between new games, movies, and a real-world restaurant location, Five Nights at Freddy’s continues to cement its legacy as one of the most recognizable franchises in indie gaming.
