World of Warcraft: Forever‘s best race has officially been revealed after the latest patch and in the beta. BlizzCon was filled with big reveals this year, including a teaser trailer for the next chapter of World of Warcraft‘s Worldsoul Saga and a new Warcraft 3 release. Still, one of the biggest reveals of the year was that Blizzard has been working on the rumored “Classic Plus” experience and is releasing it as World of Warcraft: Forever in just over one week, on November 4.
Among the gimmicks of this new game focused on horizontal progression is that racial abilities and passives have been reworked from vanilla WoW, and there are also new race and class combinations. The game also adds the brand-new Skyborne elves, which could end up proving a great addition for meta builds further down the road. In the final patch of the beta, which shut down just a few days ago, World of Warcraft: Forever nerfed its best race quite a lot. The Undead’s Touch of the Grave passive now has a massive cooldown, whereas other races have been buffed significantly.
One of World of Warcraft: Forever’s Worst Races is Now Officially The Best After Buffs
The last World of Warcraft: Forever patch before the beta shutdown made significant changes to races and classes, and Human is now the best race overall for DPS, general utility, and most non-niche builds. As shown on websites like mythicsim.com and as tested by players on the official World of Warcraft: Forever beta, the current best race in the game for DPS is Human. They parse higher than the second-best after the recent buffs, which is WoW: Forever‘s Skyborne elves in most cases. Obviously, Human is not available for all classes in the game, but where applicable, it consistently beats all other races both within the Alliance and the Horde. The parses are limited in scope because the beta’s level cap was 30, and there is no indication of what endgame gear will look like. However, Humans single-handedly have all the best racial abilities and passives in the game.

Human Racial Abilities and Passives in WoW Forever:
- Perception (Active ability, 3-minute cooldown): Dramatically increases stealth detection for 20 seconds
- Ruthless (Passive): Increases critical strike chance for all attacks and spells by 2%
- The Human Spirit (Passive): Increases Spirit by 5%
- Will to Survive (Active ability, 3-minute cooldown): Removes all Stun effects
For both PvE and PvP, Humans have incredibly strong racials. Perception is great in PvP against Rogues, Feral Druids, and Night Elves. Ruthless is a blanket damage increase for all content, proving especially strong in PvE to increase DPS. The Human Spirit is similarly powerful, as it affects all classes, and it can be a massive boon for all builds. Finally, Will to Survive is great in both PvE and PvP, as it reduces downtime due to Stuns. Since Human is the best race for DPS, generally followed by Skyborne, then Night Elves, and finally Orc, it will inevitably shape the meta of new content in World of Warcraft: Forever.
DPS is only one of the metrics to judge racial benefits by in the game, though. World of Warcraft: Forever‘s Skyborne changes make them not only much better than before in terms of damage, but they also address some of the issues players had with the new race upon reveal, such as the lack of low-poly character models.
Classes are also a factor in the equation. For example, WoW: Forever‘s Warrior changes initially made the class pretty bad across the board because of low rage generation, but this has since been fixed. Still, unless Blizzard makes last-minute changes on launch, Humans will be the strongest race in the game.
