Another popular indie title is crossing over with Fortnite, with skins based on Aggro Crab and Landfall’s social climbing game Peak coming to the Fortnite Shop this week.
Aggro Crab announced the collaboration in a YouTube short, which shows four scouts from Peak with Fortnite-character proportions–it looks like these scouts have grown taller after consuming so many berries and hot dogs. The video announces that the Peak bundle releases on March 21.
While the video doesn’t include any pricing details, it’s safe to predict that purchasing the Peak bundle would cost more than buying Peak itself, which is only $8 USD. That’s especially true with the price hike for Fortnite’s in-game currency, V-Bucks. As of the start of Chapter 7 Season 2, players have to shell out $9 for 800 V-Bucks, $23 for 2,400 V-Bucks, $37 for 4,500 V-Bucks, or $90 for 12,500 V-Bucks.
Current bundles in the Fortnite Shop range from 2,000 to 3,500 V-Bucks; with the Peak bundle appearing to include four different skins, the cost would probably be on the higher end of that range. Ideally, the bundle would come with other Peak-themed cosmetics–fans in the video’s comments section are already hoping for a Bing Bong back bling item.
Previous indie-game collabs in Fortnite include skins and items based on Among Us, Lethal Company, and even Goat Simulator 3. Last year, Peak held an in-game concert, a stunt that Aggro Crab studio head Nick Kaman described as “a parody of a Fortnite concert, but what if it was bad?” at a GDC talk.
New in Fortnite for Chapter 7 Season 2 are updated map regions and a Rivalries feature. The battle royale is also reportedly crossing over with Game of Thrones this week.
