Fortnite players will soon be able to take on the role of Thanos with the return of the Endgame LTM. Fortnite Chapter 1 had 10 seasons in total, and many of them are considered the best by fans. It was when a big part of the fanbase first tried Fortnite Battle Royale and fell in love with it. That is why, over the years, the community begged Epic Games to bring back the OG map and weapons. It happened with the launch of the OG mini-season, then Reload, and finally Fortnite OG, a permanent game mode that lets players reexperience Chapter 1 and even unlock similar cosmetics with the OG Pass.

During Chapter 1, Epic Games experimented quite a lot and came up with all sorts of ideas for quirky game modes and events. Some of these game modes were the result of collaborations with brands or franchises. In Season 4, Fortnite released the Infinity Gauntlet LTM, which was a typical Battle Royale game that gave players the chance to catch the Infinity Gauntlet and become Thanos. Later on, in Season 8, it released the Avengers Endgame game mode, which had two teams: the Avengers and Thanos. The Avengers were tasked with eliminating Thanos’s minions to disable their respawn and then take out both the minions and Thanos. As for Thanos’s team, players had to collect all six Infinity Stones to prevent the Avengers from respawning and then eliminate all of them.

Fortnite Reveals Every Update and Season Launch in 2026

Players can look forward to plenty of patches and updates this year, as Fortnite has revealed its entire release schedule for 2026.

Fortnite Announces the Return of the Endgame LTM

The Endgame LTM was a different take on Fortnite‘s big team game modes; it was a fun, more chaotic version of 50v50, and many fans were sad when it was vaulted at last. Players who enjoyed the Endgame mode will be happy to know that it is returning at last with the launch of Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 8. Even though the return of the LTM is associated with Fortnite OG, it most likely won’t take place on the OG map but on a separate game mode.

When Does the Endgame LTM Go Live in Fortnite?

Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 8 starts on Wednesday, April 1, once downtime for v40.10 ends and servers come back up. However, the Endgame LTM won’t be available from the get-go. Players will have to wait until Friday, April 3, to play Endgame. Thankfully, there is plenty to do while waiting for the launch of the limited-time mode.

Epic Games recently unvaulted the Avengers Blitz game mode, and it will be live until the next update. Blitz Royale is a fast-paced Battle Royale game mode in Fortnite with tons of loot. It takes place on a smaller island, has fewer players, and everyone spawns with loot. These matches are much faster than a standard Battle Royale game and barely have any quiet moments. Avengers Blitz adds an Avengers-twist to Blitz Royale by adding the heroes’ weapons. Fans of the Avengers franchise and Endgame LTM will surely enjoy this game mode.

It is currently unknown how long the Endgame LTM will be available in Fortnite, so if they have the chance, players should make the most of it during the first few days so they’re able to try all the exclusive weapons and have the opportunity to take on each role, whether that’s being an Avenger, Thanos, or Chitauri, Thanos’s allies. While the mode isn’t directly connected to Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 8’s pirate theme, Avengers will receive a treasure map that leads to a high-rarity Marvel weapon — a must when trying to defeat Thanos. They can get ready for this treasure hunt by playing Fortnite OG before the Endgame LTM goes live, as Season 8’s slogan is “X Marks the Spot,” so it’s bound to have plenty of hidden chests.
