Fortnite Leak Teases New Crossover Sidekicks

A recent Fortnite leak is hinting at a batch of major crossovers potentially coming to the game as part of its new Sidekick line of cosmetics. The beloved battle royale from Epic Games offers players a wide range of ways to customize their in-game characters, ranging from full outfits to minor aesthetic changes. Skins are some of the most obvious of Fortnite‘s cosmetics, with players able to use an array of characters for their appearance, while pickaxes, back blings, gliders, and more allow fans to fully personalize their Fortnite looks. However, a recently-added series of cosmetics goes a step further.

Fortnite‘s new Sidekicks cosmetics go beyond just changing the player’s character, offering a miniature friend to join them in battle. Fortnite‘s Sidekicks debuted earlier this month with a variety of Epic Games’ own characters available to join players, like Peels, Bonesy, and Flopsticks. Fortnite has even begun to implement some crossover characters as Sidekicks within the battle royale, including two Simpsons Sidekicks with Plopper and the recently-added Itchy. Now, some major new Sidekicks are reportedly set to hit Fortnite in the near future.

Fortnite: Sidekicks, Explained

Fortnite players can now purchase and unlock new pals to join their adventures, but what exactly do Sidekicks do?

Fortnite Leak Teases Paramount Sidekicks

A recent leak by SamLeakss, shared by prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX, is hinting at some big-name Sidekicks potentially coming to the game in the near future. According to the leak, Epic Games is working on a line of Paramount-themed Sidekicks for Fortnite, likely including a plethora of popular and beloved Nickelodeon characters. The post even hints at some of the possible franchises Fortnite may be eyeing for Sidekicks, including Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, among others. The leak does not provide a release window for when the Paramount Sidekicks will arrive in Fortnite.

The addition of a line of Paramount Sidekicks is not the first major leak fans have received about a Nickelodeon crossover in Chapter 7. HYPEX previously teased the arrival of a full SpongeBob SquarePants crossover to Fortnite in Chapter 7, likely to be a major event within the battle royale. Epic Games has previously collaborated with multiple Nickelodeon franchises for past Fortnite events, including not only the previously-mentioned Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but also Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.

A New TMNT Game Should Draw Inspiration From Fortnite

The upcoming launch of Fortnite‘s Chapter 7 looks to have lots in store for players, with early elements of the competitive season already being teased. Fortnite will feature several new gameplay mechanics as part of its new chapter, including “Reboot Vans” as driveable vehicles, allowing players to quickly revive their allies. The first crossovers of the season have also been teased by Epic Games, with both Kill Bill and Back to the Future arriving in Fortnite in the coming weeks. Fortnite fans should have plenty to be excited about as Epic Games rings in the debut of its newest chapter.
