With numerous Marvel crossovers to its name, it’s no surprise that a vast majority of the brand’s biggest characters can be found within Fortnite at this point. And now, it seems like one of the few heavy hitters not yet in the game — Ultron — will be flying his way to Fortnite‘s Island.

As the main villain of one of the Avengers films, it’s rather shocking that it’s taken so long for the maniacal AI to reach Epic Games’ crossover-filled battle royale. Thanos and Loki, the other Avengers movie villains, are present, after all. Created by (and eventually fusing with) Hank Pym in the comics, Ultron’s goal is to wipe out humanity, deeming them harmful to the planet and feeling that intelligent machine life is the natural evolution of things. A proper threat not just because of his brilliance, but due to his ability to back himself up through the internet and create an endless army of machine clones, Ultron is an Avengers-level threat that regularly reappears and may never be fully eradicated.

Ultron’s creator was changed to Tony Stark within the MCU, as Hank Pym had not yet been featured in the movies at that point.

Fortnite Adds Special April Fools Day Content, But There’s a Major Catch

Epic Games’ hit battle royale title is going all out for April Fools Day this year, but Fortnite fans won’t have long to appreciate all the gags.

Ultron’s Fortnite Debut Seems Set in Stone…

When it comes to Fortnite leaks, the two most reputable sources tend to be HYPEX and ShiinaBR. And, sure enough, the latter is the source for this promising Ultron information, as they’re corroborating a report from @SamLeakss about Ultron’s looming arrival. An exact release date for Ultron is not shared, meaning he could come to the item shop at any point in Chapter 7 Season 2 or beyond. However, Ultron’s addition does seem likely given the existence of one upcoming MCU project: VisionQuest.

Releasing on Disney+ at some point in 2026, VisionQuest will build off the lingering plot threads from WandaVision and Agatha All Along to focus on White Vision’s journey to reclaim his memories. James Spader is confirmed to return as Ultron within this show, perhaps through flashbacks or a hidden copy of his consciousness that The Avengers allowed to slip by. Regardless of how it happens, Ultron being back is a big moment that will likely be hinted at via VisionQuest’s trailer. And, given Disney and Epic Games’ relationship, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the companies have planned for an Ultron skin drop to happen alongside the trailer’s (currently unknown) release.

…But Ultron’s Fortnite Design is a Mystery

However, while Ultron’s Fortnite debut seems almost set in stone thanks to this leak and a looming MCU return that will surely boost the character’s popularity, what’s less certain is the villain’s design. His Age of Ultron appearance (both the default variant and the upgrade he gets prior to the final fight) would work well enough and be recognizable, sure, but he’s had plenty of other looks that could make for some great styles if they’re not used as the default skin. Potential Ultron skin styles include:

  • Infinity Ultron (What If…?)
  • Annihilation Ultron
  • Age of Ultron (golden comics version)
  • All-Father Ultron
  • Heroes Reborn Ultron

For now, though an Ultron Fortnite skin certainly seems likely, fans shouldn’t get their hopes up. Any leak could turn out to be wrong, as plans could change or sources could be feeding a leaker bad info. Still, there’s no denying that Ultron would be a very cool skin, especially since he could double as a seasonal big bad like Doctor Doom did several months ago.
