Sora and other characters from the Kingdom Hearts franchise will appear in Fortnite later this week, as Epic Games confirmed on social media that the collaboration with the popular JRPG franchise will soon be a reality. The appearance of Sora in Fortnite is part of Chapter 7 Season 4, which includes appearances from video game characters across multiple franchises.
Kingdom Hearts Comes to Fortnite September 17
The Kingdom Hearts collaboration within Fortnite begins Thursday, September 17, at approximately 7:00 AM Eastern. Along with a short video that showed Sora’s appearance in Fortnite, which is based on his outfit from Kingdom Hearts 2, Epic Games also posted quotes from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Based on the quotes in question, character skins of Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Roxas will likely be available in some capacity during the collaboration. Additionally, the Kingdom Key was confirmed to appear as a Mythic weapon. Fortnite fans pointed out that the Kingdom Key’s key chain, which usually has Mickey Mouse’s emblem, was replaced with one that depicted a Supply Llama. It is currently unclear how each Kingdom Hearts character skin, or the Kingdom Key Mythic weapon, will be obtained, so players must wait a few more days to find out.
