Members of Team Foundation have successfully completed enough rivalries in Chapter 7 Season 2 to unlock a major upgrade to the Builder’s Barracks POI in Battle Royale, greatly improving this Fortnite location. Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 introduced players to the rivalry mechanic, as the current storyline focuses on the fight between The Foundation and Ice King. At the start of the season, players had to pick which character they would like to side with, and then each time they won a rivalry, they’d gain a point for their team.

As each team gets more points, it’ll count towards their progress in the current Act of the story. During each Act, players have several milestones, and reaching them unlocks special loot and map upgrades. Rivalries can be assigned to players as the match progresses, but they can also get them from Rivalry job boards, which are scattered all over the map. This is a fun mechanic that keeps players alert and gives them side objectives during each match.

Fortnite Teases Ben 10 Crossover Collab

Fortnite officially drops the first teaser for its upcoming crossover with Ben 10, and fans are already speculating what may be on the way.

Team Foundation Reaches Milestone 2 and Significantly Upgrades Builder’s Barracks

Gamers finished all Act 1 milestones fairly quickly, so when v40.20 went live, Epic Games launched Showdown Act 2 milestones and rewards, giving players another goal to reach. Only a few days into Act 2, Team Foundation has already successfully reached the second milestone, and it has unlocked a major upgrade for Builder’s Barracks, the named location on the eastern coast of the Battle Royale island, adding more buildings and better loot.

Builder’s Barracks was added in the last Fortnite update on April 16, so some players might not have had the chance to visit it yet. Before, the location consisted of nothing more than barracks. However, now, there are two large structures on either side of its entrance, and behind it, there is a port with a ship. All the buildings and structures at Builder’s Barracks are made with the same materials that players use when playing Battle Royale Build Mode, so they consist of wood, brick, and metal.

In Chapter 1, there were a few landmarks that were also built with harvestable materials. However, the reason why Builder’s Barracks is built like this is that it is a product of the crossover event happening between Battle Royale and Save the World. When v40.20 launched, Save the World became free-to-play, and to celebrate this, some STW heroes and weapons have made their way to BR.

Builder’s Barracks is the only named location that will receive modifications as players make progress in Act 2. The Seven Base Vortex Beacon will receive a power boost once Team Foundation reaches milestone four, and slipstreams will appear in ice biomes as soon as Team Ice King does the same. The latter is more likely to happen first, as for now, Team Ice King is gaining rivalry points significantly faster. However, this could change within the blink of an eye, especially since Epic Games is constantly hosting power hours for each team, giving them the opportunity to get ahead.
