Fortnite has revealed the skin that will be given away to Crew Pack subscribers in May, and some might actually recognize it from a previous survey. Fortnite has its own monthly subscription that grants unique perks to those who opt in. Subscribers receive free cosmetic items, access to all paid passes as long as they have an active membership, including the Rocket League pass, and 1,000 V-Bucks whenever it’s renewed.
Even though the Crew Pack is renewed on a monthly basis, players are granted its perks on the final day of the previous month. For example, they will receive the May Crew Pack items on April 30. Therefore, even if players subscribe for only a month, they will still receive two cosmetic sets, as they will always have an active membership during the renewal. This doesn’t happen with V-Bucks, as players are only granted one V-Bucks pack each time they pay for the Crew Pack. So, if they cancel their Fortnite Crew subscription before it’s renewed, they will only receive 1,000 V-Bucks even if the month changes.

Gamers who bought the Crew Pack in April were eagerly awaiting the month of May so they could find out which cosmetics they would receive. Thankfully, they don’t have to wait any longer, as Epic Games has finally updated the Crew Pack assets, letting dataminers uncover the cosmetics coming in the month of May. As of April 30 at 8 PM ET, players who have an active Fortnite Crew membership will receive the Damon skin alongside its back bling and pickaxe.
Fans might recognize Damon, as he was shown in a previous cosmetic survey. Players who took the survey must have provided positive feedback on the skin, as it is coming to Fortnite at last. While changes have been made to cosmetic exclusivity in Fortnite, it is unlikely that Damon will be made available outside of the Crew Pack any time soon, so those who want to secure this skin have until May 31 at 8 PM ET to become members.
Soon, major changes will be made to the Fortnite Crew Pack; it won’t offer as many V-Bucks as before. From June 6 onwards, gamers will only receive 800 V-Bucks whenever they subscribe to the Crew Pack. Therefore, if they want to make the most of this service, they should make sure that they subscribe before then. If their subscription is renewed after June 6, they will lose access to those additional 200 V-Bucks. Players who aren’t currently subscribed can still benefit from the current V-Bucks offer for two months if they get it by May 5.

Considering the recent modifications made in Fortnite and to the Crew Pack, such as Save the World going free-to-play, passes only being granted temporarily to subscribers, and the decrease in monthly V-Bucks, some fans believe that this subscription service is no longer worth the price. Players should take the changes made into consideration before deciding if they want to purchase it in May.
