Developer Playground Games has officially announced that Forza Horizon 6 has gone gold, meaning development is complete, and the game is ready to ship. Forza Horizon 6 will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC via the Xbox app and Steam, while its PlayStation 5 version is planned for a later release, possibly in the second half of 2026.

As the official release date for Forza Horizon 6 approaches, developer Playground Games has steadily continued to showcase more of the game. Recently, it teased the Horizon Play feature, the game’s multiplayer mode, which will include both familiar and new gameplay elements. Now, the studio has gone a step further, confirming that development is officially complete while also sharing more details about in-game music and new rewards.

Forza Horizon 6 Is Being Pressed Onto Discs

According to Playground Games, with less than two weeks remaining until Forza Horizon 6‘s Early Access period, the game has been sent to disc manufacturing and is already available on Microsoft’s digital stores. In other words, the game has gone gold. Players who have preordered the game or have an active Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription can now preload Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox Series X/S and PC via the Xbox app. Preload is not currently available on Steam, though the developer has confirmed it will be added soon.

As for the file size, Forza Horizon 6‘s preload on Xbox Series X requires 135 GB of free space, while the Series S version takes up slightly less at 130 GB. On PC, the game demands a significantly larger download at 160 GB and also requires an SSD. It remains to be seen what file size the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 will have.

Players who preorder the Premium Edition or the Premium Upgrade of Forza Horizon 6 will get four days of early access. The offer is still available for now, as the preorder window remains open. Die-hard fans may also be interested to know that preorders are now open for a new Forza Horizon 6 Xbox controller and headphones, available through the official Xbox store.

Players who preorder any edition of Forza Horizon 6 will receive a pre-tuned and exclusive Ferrari J50 for free.

Alongside the news that Forza Horizon 6 has gone gold, developer Playground Games has also revealed more details about the game’s features. The company has shared a list of artists featured on the in-game radio stations, including well-known names like Linkin Park. The studio has also introduced the Loyalty Reward system, which is designed to reward players who have played previous Forza games with special items and vehicles. More details are expected in the coming days as the release date approaches. Forza Horizon 6 will launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC on May 19, with the PlayStation 5 release planned for later this year.
